Penn State 1-0 over Bucknell in a game that finished a short while ago today. Next up, also this afternoon, is the St. Francis Red Flash. (Both games were originally supposed to be played outside, but were moved indoors.)

^ I haven't heard anything about a new hire for the GK coaching slot at Penn State. In other news, on Saturday Penn State finished their spring schedule with a 0-0 tie vs. UMBC. The Nittany Lions finished the spring with a 2-1-3 record.
Clip of some nice work and a Nittany Lion near goal from last Saturday's Penn State vs. UMBC scimmage: https://www.facebook.com/bob.warming/videos/10100410460101786/
"Penn State Student-Athletes Continue to Exceed National Academic Averages ... The 13 Nittany Lion teams that earned (the NCAA's) perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in 2014-15 are: women’s cross-country, men’s fencing, women’s fencing, men’s golf, men’s gymnastics, women’s hockey, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball, women’s tennis, men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball and wrestling." http://news.psu.edu/story/405745/2016/04/20/athletics/penn-state-student-athletes-continue-exceed-national-academic?utm_source=newswire&utm_medium=email&utm_term=405755_HTML&utm_content=04-20-2016-21-57&utm_campaign=Penn State Today
^ Re post above, also from this article: http://gopsu.info/1Tjo5g4 " ... The men's soccer team led all Nittany Lion teams with an improvement of 26 points in their multi-year APR score from last year, going from 946 to 972 ..."
Re judging the meaning of these numbers, here is an article that gives some perspective on such scores. http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/apr-scores-show-money-remains-big-factor-college-38545089 An excerpt from the article: "The four-year average of 979 improved by one point over last year's record high. Scores in football (959), men's basketball (964) and women's basketball (978) improved by three points each while baseball (970) had a one-point improvement." Regarding Penn State scores improving, it would appear the scores have been going up steadily and significantly pretty much since Bob Warming took over as PSU's head soccer coach back in 2010, and with his first team with any of his recruits in 2011, and with his first team with all players he recruited in 2014 , and until a perfect score was achieved in 2015.

Penn State's team now on a summer training trip to Canada ... A couple of updates so far: http://snpy.tv/1WTWsPa http://www.gopsusports.com/blog/2016/06/blog-canadian-trip-day-one.html
From the final blog post from the Penn State soccer training trip to Canada: " ... For our guys, being a collegiate student-athlete is much more than just competing in your sport and graduating. It is growing, learning, molding and developing over the four or five years at Penn State into the person that you will become for the rest of your life. This trip is just one example of the opportunities that contribute to this factor. It has been a phenomenal experience to see not only new sights of the world, but see our student-athletes experience new adventures that they will talk about for the rest of their lives." http://www.gopsusports.com/blog/2016/06/blog-canadian-trip-final-day.html
