Cal 1 - 1 Utah (2 OT) Great match. But why do these PAC-12 tv directors always cut away from crucial game action to show coaches sitting on the bench, usually with their legs crossed?
Great match for Utah. Cal? Not so much... Completely dominated Utah in every possible way and can only scratch out a come from behind draw? Preparing for their annual first round exit from the NCAA tourney I suppose...
Cal forwards always put terrific pressure on back lines. But come OT, they're gassed, especially Onumonu.
Yep. In stretches throughout regulation, Cal put in a master-class passing clinic. Then in OT, it all evened out.
Oh...I can beat that....during the USC/Wazoo game they broke away from the game to show a digital thermometer because it was 97 degrees....not terrible except for the fact they cutaway in the middle of a run into the attacking third...then left it on the screen for 7-10 seconds....next time just have the Play by Play guys say "its hot...trust us" BTW, Pac12 Network has no ESPN affliliation
Did you see USC's second goal yesterday? They dribbled out of the field completely and the ref didn't call it for whatever reason, and USC scored. That ended any chance WSU had of getting the result in that game. They were very much in the game I must say
That ball was definitely out of bounds and the WSU player quit on the play which allowed USC a direct line to goal. The WSU keeper lit into her defender for quiting. That being said, USC could easily have had an extra 3 goals in the first half alone with blown opportunities on wide open goals
It is not...despite the fact that USC has only given up 7 goals in 15 games, all 3 of the losses came from game changing missed opportunities. That will not fly come Tournament time aand needs to be addressed
Wow...Colorado gives up 2 goals to Cal in the last 2 minutes of regulation to take things to OT. Then they scroe with 2 seconds left in the 2OT on a header from the freshman phenom. So Here's what the Pac12 looks like through today USC 7-1 Stanford 7-1 Colorado 7-1 UCLA 6-1-1 Utah 5-2-1 Cal 5-2-1 USC's last 3 -Utah, Colorado, UCLA Stanford last 3 -ASU, AZ, Cal Colorado last 3 -UCLA, USC, Utah UCLA last 3 -Colorado, Utah, USC Utah last 3 -USC, UCLA, Colorado Cal last 3 -AZ, ASU, Stanford This is gonna be a fun last 3 games to see who grabs the league title...Lotso drama ahead
And, for once, all matches will be either streamed or televised for the final two weekends: soccer entertainment heaven.
Does anyone know what happened to Samantha Bruder, the highly touted USC freshman?? She is listed on the roster but has not played at all. I assume she is injured and taking a redshirt but it doesn't say that anywhere.
Early Concussion in practice kept her out long enough that it looks like the Coaching staff are leaning toward a Redshirt.
Cleared to play but this late in the season it is assumed the staff will try to hold her redshirt unless they get put into a corner with another injury. Til now, the staff has been conservative in who they play.
2016/10/27 Thu Washington State - Oregon State 08' 0-1 Govig mooncross from ~box top right drops to 9m center, Dederick comes out but doesn't get close, Faris glance-heads past her to left post low. I'm -- programming C++ and watching the stream, instead of sitting on the hill 22' 0-1 pbp guy mentions that the common complaint/refrain across Pac-12 coaches is: if we could just finish better. Analyst Aly Wagner promptly tees off on US soccer youth development She echoes what we've noted: that in other countries, esp. "Germany, France, Switzerland" , et al., instruction is valued, reps are encouraged, kids incessantly practice on their own, etc. Ergo, those nations' players "get 3 chances and bury 2", while even USWNT could do better at that. He: "If there were two players you've never seen before, one foreign, one American, could you tell them apart?" She: "Sadly, yes -- their technique, etc." ??' 0-1 Kt.Johnson dribbles center-to-right past spot, clears the defense, shoots across mouth past everybody -- off left post, bounces directly into Geist on the ground. That's our 2016! pbp guy agrees: "That, in a nutshell, is --" and we all nod HT 0-1. During the interview with WSU HC Todd Shulenberger, Aly Wagner's question is: "Coach, any thought to having your players make one more pass and get closer to goal before shooting?" Shulenberger agrees with that -- and so do we. Grumble.
65'40" 0-1 "It's been raining all day" -- and Geist faceplants with nobody within 30m, just trying to reposition her feet. Wagner: "it's just a sniper" 66'20" 0-1 Yellow card on HC Shulenberger (off screen). 67'00" 0-1 Yellow card on WSU #12 Katie Jones (off screen).
Pac 12 picture gets more interesting by the day. Colorado takes down UCLA while USC gets robbed of the full 3 points off a horrible Offside Call with time running out in regulation that negated the go ahead goal.vs Utah. It sickens me to think some AR getting paid $100 can impact not only a conference title but also seeding in the tournament.
It goes both ways. They had plenty of calls went their ways this season that shouldn't have happened. I will say though that the officiating hasn't been very good overall this season just in general.
No doubt on the both ways thing...with 32 seconds left in the game it was just plain crappy. I have a still shot but apparently the file is too big to post...Long and short is the last defensive player was a full yard behind the player called off. The USC coaching staff was begging the Pac12 network to show the officials a replay, ven though it wouldn't have changed anything. Hopefully come tournament time the officials get things right
