We also still have Berner in the system, who has acquitted himself well in Charlotte by all reports.

Posting mostly to convince myself that Big Soccer isn't down? ;>) Crickets here since Saturday night, is anything going on with the team this week -- thought I heard something about tomorrow but maybe I had it confused w/ UCL?

Yeah, I lost a lot of respect for Jones for that tweet. Not that he cares. Still, a little more tact would have been nice.

JJ was our best player in that final game (Hairston was as good for the time he was on); that tweet is obnoxious, but maybe its directed at the coaching and front office staff. Funny thing is, I hated him when he was at New England.

Give the thread a few more weeks, or at least through the Cup final.

It doesn't really matter, you have to be smart enough to not send that tweet an hour after the team was eliminated in the playoffs.

Agree 100%. Leaves a real bad taste. As good as he was on the field, his lack of being on the field didn't help much. No room for someone who doesn't want to be here. Let the Gals have him, they like to over-spend on aged players.

The score in this series is like two months of Rapids soccer.

We managed 12 goals in a month from mid-April to mid-May (during our undefeated streak). That's the only month we got close to 12 goals.

I saw your unanswered question in the referee area, in my opinion yes possible SFP in a regular season match (or by Dis. Co.) but for the match before MLS Cup I got the feeling that PRO sent the guy out there w/o a red card in his pocket -- and then told him to use his yellow for what he might think was red and nothing for what he might think was yellow. On Altidore's aerial challenge I doubt he got the look at it that we did with multiple angles and slow motion , Altidore also going to the ground maybe made it seem like just a 50/50 two guys going for the ball type of play.

On edit I still think with better coaching we could, would, should, have beaten Seattle -- but it was going to take more than that to beat Toronto, even at home.

I also saw the question - I don't think that's SFP in a regular season match in most leagues around the world, let alone MLS. It's especially not SFP in the MLS playoffs when you have an out of the MTL player giving Altidore a slight nudge as he was jumping. I would be fine with yellow.

Given that Burch didn't see red for his elbow to Lodeiro, and Lodeiro didn't see red for his elbow to Le Toux... at the very least, they're being consistent in not punishing players in the playoffs.

I had to watch on "DVR delay." That was a crazy series. Pablo would have had a heart attack. T-t-t-t-oo many goals...the horror...

Indeed, the only fly in the ointment was (again) Brad Friedel's commentary, only recent worse example I can think of was Keller's use of "we" in re. Seattle on a national broadcast but you can sort of forgive his homerism because he played there and does a lot of their matches -- not sure if the people that hire these guys ever watch/listen or just read playing histories on Wikipedia ...
