Gashi is a finalist for GOTY. So far he has over 80% of the vote, but we all know today how valid those preliminary numbers are. So get out and vote Gashi! (It really is the better strike)
Here is the link in case anyone needs it: http://www.mlssoccer.com/goty/2016/voting You can vote multiple times with different browsers/devices. I voted on all my devices (personal phone, work phone, ipad, work laptop, personal laptop (multiple browsers)) and now he is up to 83%. Feels like we are in Chicago - vote early, vote often. rod.
Doyle has had some good interviews of late. Really appreciate reading the stuff he is doing. Mainly over in Europe, which makes him a good ambassador for the Rapids overseas. http://www.espnfc.co.uk/club/colora...yle-everyone-will-notice-us-if-we-win-mls-cup Several interesting answers, I really appreciated his comments on the atmosphere in the playoffs. I couldn't agree more, that last game was incredible from an atmosphere perspective! Quote on playoff atmosphere: "Q. Did the atmosphere around the match feel different to a regular season game? A: Absolutely. I was told that American sports fans come to life in playoff games and that was certainty how it felt on Sunday. The atmosphere in both games was a step up from what we have seen all year and I can't wait for the Seattle game to come around now." - Doyle via ESPNFC. Rod.
Great observation. Doesn't often come up how valuable Doyle, Gashi, and Howard for attracting future talent from Europe. The Rapids did a good job getting visible players who want to be here as family - not just for the "easy" paycheck. They are the guys who will influence other players to want to be here too.
#Rapids96 may get Shkelzen Gashi back for conference finals vs. Seattle #Sounders:https://t.co/BCL8ORf3vh by @johnmeyer #SEAvCOL— Daniel Boniface (@danielboniface) November 10, 2016
Tim Howard with a nice interview at the start of ESPNFC today, should be available at ESPN3? A little about the Rapids and playoffs but mainly re. the USA v. Mexico WCQ manana.
He's stated this earlier this season, but I find it interesting: Q. What has changed to transform this Colorado team after a disappointing 2015 season? A: Good recruitment of players, excellent organization on and off the field and a good direction from the owners. Everything we have seen was promised to me when I agreed to come to Colorado last year, and that isn't always the case. Clubs tend to sell you the story that they are on the brink of taking off when you have contract talks, but the people in charge at Rapids were very convincing and between us all, we have taken the club forward. I was thinking the same thing, only more specifically in Doyle's case - while he's in Ireland now, and perhaps when the season's over, will he chat with Daryl Horgan?
It turns out that Horgan is listed on the Irish squad along with Doyle . They have a WWC qualifier tomorrow at Austria. Will be interesting to see if they both make the selection.
Howard just went done on a GK kick, right knee or groin. Edit: Stays in after Guzan had already changed into uni. Nope he signaled and is out now.
Congrats to Azira who got into Uganda's game for the last 30 minutes as an injury sub. I believe that's his first appearance for the Nats. Doyle was an unused sub for Ireland.

Now that Howard is done, Seattle may finally have a chance to win it all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The MLS Cup hosting rankings are like this, right? Rapids, TFC, Sounders, Impact So, if the Rapids can't go, it could be TFC at home vs the Sounders. There'd still be some hope.
