Hooraaah!! We are in business! Thank you Lunatica for bringing the U17WNT promo code thing up 6 weeks ago.

I just entered the promo code "U20WNT" on my FoxSoccer2Go account by chance and it worked!

Looks like I now have an active subscription from Nov 14, 2016 to Nov 28, 2016 to:

I was looking back at last years U20 Euros and CONCACAF. Scary stuff. The US beat Canada 1-0 to win CONCACAF. Spain beat France in PKs in the semis in UEFA. Considering the woopin' Spain put on Canada the US seems to have their work cut out for them.

I wouldn't put too much stock in Canada's defending.
Against a better group, I'd be surprised if Spain will be able to put away even 1 goal.
Also, teams can change a lot from one year to the next at this age level.

Kickoff was at 00:34 stream timer? No scoreclock graphic -- it's an FS2Go thing  (confirmed by scoreclock briefly appearing at 10:00)

08' 0-0 Mostly France pressure and runs into our end, disrupted at box top -- no shots yet. USA are compact, looking a tad nervous vs. France's high press. We haven't connected much of anything past circle top.

11' 0-0 #17 Gathrat shoots from ~22m arc left, rolls wide left low.

12' 0-0 Murphy gk, directly to #8 Geyoro(?) at midfield left touch. Quick smooth diagonal pass to 22m mid-right, France build another attack. Cross into box, header fails, nervous clearance almost whiffs but we collect and clear.

13' 0-0 France ping across midfield, longball from midfield left touch -- Elliston settles. USA ping across the back. At least we look organized and haven't lost our shape yet. France leads in diagonal switches to other box top by about 15-0.

14' 0-0 Riehl forward pass to Ogle at circle back tangent left, she turns but gets poached right away. France instantly counter up centerline to 22m, shot blocked high and drops to 12m left post, #10 Mateo gets under it and heads wide left. That's about the 10th steal-and-counter-drive we've given up. We've yet to really cross circle top with any threat.

16' 0-0 #4 Cissoko turns away from Pugh's pressure, but quacks a terrible square pass to circle back box left. Sánchez pokes it past 1 and sprints to box top wide right, bends a ground cross to 8m 1/5 right for a 50-50 race between Pugh and GK Chavas. Chavas dives on ball, Pugh dives over her -- gets a leg clipped? Ball pops out to 12m, Chavas dives on it again. Both Chavas and Pugh stay down a bit. Stoppage to check ... both resume.

22' 0-0 LB #14 Jean dribbles up wide left to 30m, gets overtaken by 2 and #7 D.Cascarino takes ball.

23' 0-0 #10 Ogle runs into 2 defenders pinching shut at circle center, loses ball. France loses it to Elliston. We're having some trouble dribble-driving in midfield, apparently because of the speed edge.

24' 0-0 Gathrat(?) arm-grabs Ogle at circle center, this time Ogle spins-and-sheds her and bursts past circle top. Nice lag pass splits the CBs for Pugh chasing to box top right post -- Chavas wins the race to 15m and scoops up.

25' 0-0 Pugh outflanks up box right, give-and-go springs her through box right to 8m. Karchaoui(?) taps ball off her foot, over endline right.

26' 0-0 Short corner? Pugh sprints down box right to 0.1m mid-right, hooks a cross to 0.2m right post, Chavas catches face-high. We're starting to put France under some pressure.

31' 0-0 RB #12 Mansuy passes to #17 Gathrat at circle top box right, Petersen(?) pokes ball off her foot. Pugh collects behind midfield box left, sprints north up centerline on a 2-v-3 -- has Scarpa drifting out to arc top mid-left, instead takes it herself to 15m 2/5 right, shoots hard right foot to center low -- but directly into Chavas kneeling. Sigh. At least it's a shot on goal.

    32' 0-0 1h hydration break.

37' 0-0 France do more of their lateral-passing build-up. USA maintain shape instead of challenging them to any 1-v-1 lunge or sprint duels. Diagonal pass down box left springs Karchaoui(!) to 5m mid-left, she dribbles away and loses it. Scarpa holds up 1-v-2 at circle top box right, somehow we switch to Pugh 1-v-1 on #4 Cissoko through box top mid-left. Pugh challenges her with a stutter-fake-and-go, Cissoko wins race by a body lean and shields ball to 0.5m, where Chavas falls on it.

38' 0-0 Karchaoui blasts long one-touch from 25m+, wide right. Murphy does not have a save yet: shots(sog) 4(0)-1(1). France 62%-38% possession.

43' 0-0 RB #12 Mansuy chips a high cross from 24m wide right to 8m left post. Karchaoui jumps back-to-back over Otto(?) and heads down on-frame, bounces up into Murphy's hands.

44' 0-0 France chip high to arc top, tricky header clearance pops up poorly but #15 Garbino is 1 step offside.

45' 0-0 Karchaoui loses it over endline left. +4'.

45+3' (of +4') 0-0 France short-pass at arc top, Pugh comes back to own arc top and shoulder-bumps Karchaoui down from juuust slightly behind. Foul :(

45+4' (of +4') 0-0 France fk at arc top center, #15 Garbino bends left instep over wall to center, directly into Murphy's hands.

HT 0-0. France is doing to us what Stanford does to a non-conference team. We are so going to steal this match on a late Pugh breakaway :D

Pretty typical US/France match...France controlling the ball but cant finish...US getting most of their joy countering off mistakes.

Our coach has taken a defensive option with an extra midfielder Garbino rather than a forward like Leger or Gauvin.

Our main centre forward is watching on tv having broken a muscle just two days before flying to the tournament.

We lack fluidity in attack because of it.

46' 0-0 2h kickoff at 66:02. #7 D.Cascarino promptly dribbles through box top right to 14m, LB #14 Jean does a perfect spin-shield and takes ball.

47' 0-0 #15 Garbino runs on and volleys low at arc top right, just wide right low.

    49' 0-0 #2 Roberts settle-and-spins at 24m arc right, sweeps a pass to Sánchez at 14m mid-right -- but 2m offside.

50' 0-0 #8 Geyoro passes to #7 D.Cascarino at 15m box right, she drives to 5m box right and shoots hard low to 1m right post, Murphy block-smothers it with a tiny bobble but falls on it.

55' 0-0 Karchaoui runs down wide left to 12m, square pass to Garbino facing her at 11m mid-left. Garbino spins cw to 2m mid-left, cross caught by Murphy at left post.

57' 0-0 France chip from ~box top right to 6m right post, Murphy jumps over Karchaoui and catches high. USA must soak up all this pressure.

58' 0-0 Pugh settles 1-v-3 at arc top mid-left, square pass to Sánchez momentarily open at arc top mid-right. Sánchez barely turns away from pressure, escapes down mid-right to 2m, ball poked over.

59' 0-0 USA right ck, low outswinging to 9m right post, #6 Otto one-touch sails high.

60' 0-0 #12 Mansuy fires a pass up right touch, #7 D.Cascarino flicks it past LB #14 Jean at arc top right touch, sprints alone through box right foot to 6-right foot. Backpass to 6m 1/3 right, #10 Mateo one-touch shot low -- blocked by RB #5 Elliston's extended leg, goes rightward to the flag. France shoot long from ~box top mid-right just wide of right post, Murphy dives and blocks it over but can't hang on.

62' 0-0 Jean passes up wide left, Pugh spins perfectly off #4 Cissoko's back and leaves her 5m behind, runs through box top mid-left. Again, Pugh declines to look for a pass, jukes past E.Cascarino down to 8m mid-left, shoots -- over bar. Sigh.

63' 0-0 Pugh steal-and-spins from the right this time, to arc top box right, cuts inside to mid-right. This time she toe-pokes a pass toward 6m center -- too far for Scarpa(?), Chavas gathers. France are not perfect in the back, but we have so few players in the attack that our ideas are Lone Wolf No Cub.

65' 0-0 USA subs in (1 of 3) #7 Savannah DeMelo for #2 Parker Roberts.

66' 0-0 #8 Petersen goes down with left calf cramp. Jean stretches her out until the trainers arrive. All others get water.

68' 0-0 France look fresher, swarm our 1/3. Finally, 13© Greboval chips from 22m box left, easy catch for Murphy.

    70' 0-0 France subs in (1 of 3) #19 Marie-Charlotte Leger for #15 Maelle Garbino.

70' 0-0 Karchaoui dribbles up wide left, Sánchez goes for a lunge-poke and Karchaoui hops her. Flick pass toward 12m wide left, Elliston disrupts and steals, then gets tripped and fallen-upon.

71' 0-0 Cissoko longball from behind circle center, bounces to Murphy at 15m.

72' 0-0 #7 D.Cascarino dribbles fast to box top mid-right, does two step-overs :devilish:, takes LB Jean down to 5m mid-right, shoots hard behind goal into endboards.

73' 0-0 LM #8 Petersen is in pain-tears, gamely trotting on crampish legs.

74' 0-0 #17 Gathrat chips from 24m mid-right to Karchaoui unmarked through box top mid-left to 10m -- but ball bounces up into her right shoulder and away, handball.

    75' 0-0 2h cooling break.

76' 0-0 USA subs in (2 of 3) #16 Emily Fox for #8 Courtney Petersen.

78' 0-0 France fk at 8m wide right, headed away. France regain, circulate right. Shross to 10m 6-right to Gathrat facing away, back flick-head goes way over bar.

79' 0-0 USA subs in (3 of 3) #11 Ally Watt for #15 Jessie Scarpa.

80' 0-0 D.Cascarino hops Jean down box right to endline mid-right, backpass poked away by #6 Otto just-in-time. USA long pass releases Watt past 2 up wide left, through box left to 5m mid-left -- she loses it over endline.

82' 0-0 D.Cascarino drives 1-v-1 on Jean to 5m wide right, cross blocked over.

83' 0-0 France right ck, cleared away. Geyoro(?) flicks down mid-right, nobody making that run, ball rolls over.

84' 0-0 France subs in (2 of 3) #18 Valerie Gauvin for #10 Clara Mateo.

85' 0-0 Cissoko hangs a backpass to 15m, Watt slides as Chavas wins the race, clears ball upfield and hop/sprawls over her. Foul on Watt.

86' 0-0 France right ck, to 1m 4-right, Pugh(?!) volleys it to far touch. D.Cascarino chips high over mouth, drops into left endzone.

86' 0-0 D.Cascarino chips from arc top wide right, floats onto roof. Murphy lands in goal, left calf cramps up. No more subs  Stoppage, trainers come out and stretch her.

88' 0-0 Murphy resumes. France promptly win the gk, but head into near touch.

89' 0-0 France sail a pass to arc top left, Gauvin and Otto jump into each other, both miss ball and go chest-to-chest (then backward and down).

90' 0-0 France ping across midfield. Karchaoui does a dribbling-demo at arc top left, beats 2-3 and keeps ball. Cross from the left over 14m center, Gauvin does a theatrical twist-and-flop like Camille for you. No call, ref not a fan of opera. +5'.

90+1' (of +5') 0-0 France have chipped ~5 long direct balls toward box top in the last ~2', none close. USA have oddly ;) not muffed, clanged, or quacked a self-defeating catastrophic blunder touch yet. (Knock on frame!)

90+2' (of +5') 0-0 Sánchez tripped at 25m right touch.

90+3' (of +5') 0-0 Pugh fk at 25m right touch, sailed to 6m 1/3 left, Chavas catches high.

90+3' (of +5') 0-0 Fox passes down mid-left for Watt bending her run along box top and past 2. Cissoko chest-bumps Watt in the back, Watt sprawls over ball at 4m -- no call. Watt stays down in tears, France kick ball into near touch. Watt resumes, trots back into play.

FT 0-0. Bleh. Well, it's better than losing by 4, which could have happened.

    Possession 60%-40%
    Shots(sog-save) 17(4-4) to 3(1-1)
    Corners 4-2

Our players really stayed in their zone of the pitch. They made it too easy to defend against.
