[U-14] The U-14 NT is participating in U-14 East Asia Football Festival in Beijing. They will play Mongolia (6th), followed by Japan (7th), Guam (9th) and Saipan (9th). Noticeable player selected is Lee Eul-yong's son Lee Tae-seok who currently plays in FC Seoul's youth. The manager is Jung Jung-yong and squad consists of 15 K League youths out of 18. http://www.kfa.or.kr/news/news_view.asp?BoardNo=13427&Page=1&Query=Gubun=11301

I'm really curios to see it, although they won't face an hard opposition. What is this, the first game of the tournament or what?
Lineup vs Iraq Chun Sunghoon (18) Park Jeongin (9) ... Jeon Chanyoung (22) ... Park Chanbin (7) Lee Subin (6) .... Yong Donghyun (20) Kim Minhyeok (3) ... Kim Taehyeon (4) ... Ko Junhee (15) ... Kim Taehwan (2) (c) Park Jimin (1) May not be 100 % correct formation-wise. I will have to see the formation and where some players are playing
Impressive dribble by captain Kim Tae-hwan and sets up Jeon Chan-young for goal. 1-0 just before the break.
HT: KOR 1-1 IRAQ Iraq scored just before the break after Kim Min-hyeok gave away a PK (handball), That part is just a natural mistake and we cant fault him too much. The first half was overall a bit frustrating. We started and for the first part of the half we struggled - partly because of Iraq doing better than our players expected and partly because our condition were poor. At times I felt like they were in a 멘붕 state as they could barely put a pass in. Fortunately it got better towards 30th minute mark and the players look much better state compared to the first 30 mins. I do think that being it first match, it was sort of expected that the young players would struggle (still frustrating) but I think I've seen some signs that they will improve in second half.
FT: KOR 1-2 IRAQ Result-wise, the worst result you could ask for. Performance-wise, even worse. I dont really want to say this but Chun Sung-hoon's performance was one of the worst, if the not THE worst, performance I have seen from a KNT youth striker for a long time. Seo Hyo-won, I never really had that much trust him before this tournament. So far he proving to be a very incompetent coach. There's still 2 matches to redeem himself but....boy oh boy.
Out of 14 players who played today, 11 of them won't be pro footballers at k league classic level. #9, #8 and #22 seems to be good.
Korea was playing better than Iraq tbh. I think Korea will advance from this group as our opponents are Oman and Malaysia. Good luck
AFC U-16 CHAMPIONSHIP - MD2: GROUP C PREVIEW http://the-afc.com/u-16-championship-2016/afc-u-16-championship-md2-group-c-preview
it's surprising how little fanfare there is for this tournament this year. In 2012 there was a ton of attention on HHC n co in 2014 we had LSW Guess there are no exciting superstars this time around?
nearly no one watched the 2012 regional qualifiers. it wasnt even broadcasted by any of the korean stations. the amount of attention this team is getting is unusual and is probably stemmed by the previous generation that included lee seungwoo
We had a really good team in the 2012 Championships IMO.We had a pretty good squad with a good manager. It's just we didnt have much luck and had to meet Uzbekistan in the QF's and go out in PK shootouts. Unfortunately, there arent players like Hwang Hee-chan or Hwang In-beom in this squad. Park Jeong-in has potential but he has little support from others around, at least from the looks of the first match. Today's crucial match against Oman will be a better telling of this squad - whether first match was just nerves kicking or they lack the skills. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/2012-2013-u12-u17-nt-r.1943711/page-2
from the little ive seen this team isnt that bad and the coaching doesnt seem all that terrible either. i think people are overreacting to the first match loss
