The 5th spot isn't decided, but Sion is going to the Europa League whether they win the Cup or not because of how the math breaks down. Young Boys clinches the Champions League third round for the third straight year. Because of they'll be unseeded, they'll most likely face one of the tougher draws. Vaduz needs six points from 4 matches, plus Lausanne to lose out, in order to stay up. Ironically enough, they both play the same 4 teams to end the season. Lausanne - at Luzern, vs Thun, vs Lugano, at Young Boys Vaduz - vs Young Boys, at Lugano, at Luzern, vs Thun Lausanne's magic number is 7. Any combination of points earned and Vaduz points dropped totaling 7 will mean they stay up and Vaduz will go down.
16 May Lugano - FCSG 3-2 Three goals early help Lugano onto the victory. Ezgjan Alioski had three assists.
17 May Vaduz - YB Vaduz with a win over YB keeps the pressure on, but LS also wins away to keep the gap at 5 points with 3 to play. Luzern - LS 0-3 Very bizarre match. Luzern was listless. Maybe the turmoil in the club is starting to spill over to the field. Thun - GCZ 3-1. 19 May Basel - Sion Preview of the Swiss Cup final.
Exciting match in Basel as Sion twice comes back for a 2-2 draw. Basel 80 YB 62 Sion 49 Lugano 47 Luzern 43 Thun 40 GCZ 37 FCSG 37 LS 34 Vaduz 29 3 matches left and Vaduz is 5 points behind. Their fate could be sealed this weekend. 20 May LS - Thun Lugano - Vaduz 21 May Sion - Luzern FCSG - GCZ YB - Basel Interesting matches. Vaduz could know if they will be relegated even before they play on Saturday if LS defeats Thun. Sion and Luzern is key for the Europa League spots. YB-Basel is for pride only. FCSG and GCZ is for 7th/8th place.
20 May LS - Thun 0 -0 Lugano - Vaduz 2 - 1 21 May Sion - Luzern 2-3 FCSG - GCZ 4-1 YB - Basel 2-1 Odd weekend. With two weekends left Vaduz still has a chance, albeit very slim. Sion falls into 4th place, but only 3 points ahead of Luzern.

2 June Basel - FCSG 4-1 Vaduz - Thun 1-3 Lugano - Luzern 0-1 Sion - GCZ 1-1 YB - LS 2-0 The only real drama was Lucas Andersen scoring very late for GCZ to draw Sion. This pushed Sion into the 4th spot instead of the 3rd. Basel 86 YB 69 Lugano 53 Sion 51 Luzern 50 Thun 45 FCSG 41 GCZ 38 LS 35 Vaduz 30 Vaduz had a good multi-season run. I think they will compete will in the BCL. I would assume that LS is the odds on favorite to be relegated next season.
