On the road so I didn't get to see this one live. What did the OG look like? Hutch kicking ass and an unfortunate bounce? Deflection?
correctly both times. iirc, for the first there had been a foul on Westwood and the second was offside. I'd heard the whistle clearly before each goal, so I don't think there could've been any complaints. PNE were dominant at that point, though, and you could see the goal coming. as to the designation of 'own goal', I thought that was a bit harsh on Hutch at the time. Cunningham got in behind on the left and was bearing down on goal when Hutch came in to try to block what I thought was a shot and expected to be a goal credited to Cunningham. In the match report, though, it says that it was a cross that Hutch had diverted into the net. No doubt they are right and I was wrong; but it was a desperate attempt to shut down a man in behind and closing in on the goal. Credit to Hutch for being the only one industrious enough to defend with meaning ... whatever blame there is for the goal doesn't go to him.
Sheffield Wednesday won't be on TV. BeIN Sports isn't showing any games live. They have a doubleheader of delayed games: Blackburn vs. Newcastle United at 1:00 P.M. Queens Park Rangers vs. Ipswich Town at 3:00 P.M.
that's a terrible matchup. away to a side fully capable of beating us and not glamorous enough to make it worth it. hopefully they'll field a reserve side and we stick it to 'em.
Middlesbrough won 3:0. While the score was 1:0, Middlesbrough got a red card, but it didn't help Sheffield Wednesday.
A real howler for 'Boro's second. Wildsmith plays a poor pass out to Pudil that almost goes into touch ... Pudil then sends a backpass back to the keeper that puts him under pressure ... Wildsmith panics trying to get it out asap and kicks it straight into the advancing Negredo and rebounding straight into the Wednesday net. this having gone up a man and still only down a goal. nice.
well, here's a bit of good news ... http://www.swfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/fernando-forestieri-extends-owls-contract-3510937.aspx
Sheffield Wednesday 2:0 Huddersfield Town Ross Wallace scored in the 54th minute. Fernando Forestieri scored in the 90+1st minute. Huddersfield Town's Jack Payne got a straight red card in the 70th minute.
Sheffield Wednesday's game at Wigan Athletic on Friday at 2:45 P.M. (1:45 P.M. where IvanIV is) will be on BeIN Sports with The Express at 2:30 P.M. and game coverage at 2:40 P.M.
holy hell! http://www.swfc.co.uk//news/article/2016-17/jordan-rhodes-signs-for-wednesday-3550213.aspx for all the talk, i never actually thought it would happen. proven goal scorer at this level. Chansiri showing commitment, that's for sure.
i was surprised to see that the fee looks to be 10M, as he hasn't done anything for boro this season and was struggling to even get playing time. i was figuring it'd be about half that.
