Dunno what's worse: bench or play and lose conceding 2 goals. Poor Eiji...

What a drama. 2-2 in until the 92 th minute when Matuidi heads 2-3 home. No chance for Kawashima. Poor Metz.

Nice way to destroy newcomer gk self confidence and, why not, to value him bad and bench him till the end of the season.

You could score a hat trick, teioh would find a way to make it a sad event.

Well, when Kagawa scored the hat trick with ManUtd I was not part of the dumb guys who started flame with the koreans about Park and shit.

If he will be benched for the rest of the season it could be better for him to start in a different, easier match than this.

No. He was the third keeper and he started in one of the biggest match of the season. It's a huge achievement for a japanese keeper. He wasn't supposed to play anyway.

Yeah, but why? I'm trying to understand why the manager is suddenly giving him space. Are they desperate to avoid relegation? Is Didillon behaving badly?

I don't know why Didillon wasn't in the squad if injury or what. The coach had then to decide between the 2nd and third GK and went with Eiji

The coach rested 70% of the starters for the more winnable games after this one.

Didillon was being rested. One might also consider the possibility that the manager rates Kawashima's professionalism and goalkeeping ability. After all he may have heard that Eiji stepped in for a crucial World Cup Qualifier and played a great match...

Indeed, GKs usually don't need turnovers like the other players.

You generally don't do things for the sake of it but I think Didillon taking 5 goals in between those two games has more bearing in today's decision.

Kawashima was shaky towards the end of the Nancy match, but given that Didillon have played cr*p recently, he probably will be between the posts next match as well.

His interview after the match. Just says the team is happy with the win, they missed some chances, etc...
