Rumours are that Elias is the next player to leave. Atletico Mineiro is interested in signing him in a transfer worth between 3-4M euros.

Good riddance to both of those players.

That would be good business to shift both of these players and as mentioned further up it gives Matheus a chance hopefully

O Jogo claiming that William is also a strong bet to leave this January

He was worth more before, if a club is willing to pay 25M I'd sell him.

    Marković going to Hull City.
I can't believe it, he actually scored 2 goals for Sporting.

All the main news sites saying the same thing - not official yet though. Andre Pinto (central defender) set to join us on a free transfer at the end of the season from Braga (contract expiring). Apparently he had offers from Benfica and Fiorentina.

Great move if true: 27 years old, knows the league so should adapt quickly, has 57 appearances for Braga since 2014, has been a regular until recently (was relegated to the B team because he didn't want to renew his contract). Fits into JJ's profile as a tall defender (1.94 metres).

I'm assuming Douglas will leave. If Coates leaves too then we probably look for another defender in the offseason

Apparently Lukas Spalvis returned from Belenenses after they decided he still wasn't fit enough to play for them. Maybe towards the end of the season he'll have a chance in the team.

Pinto is just another addition to the mediocrity tbh

I thought he performed well for Braga - he's coming for free, experienced, knows the league and surely his salary won't be anywhere near what Douglas is getting.

A good depth option, especially if Paulo Oliveira decides to move somewhere else for his career.

Didn't we buy Douglas outright? Is there no chance he gets another year to try and fit in?

We did for 1 or 1.5M euros (can't remember which) but his salary is pretty high (around 1M / annual).

More evidence that JJ isn't fit to manage this team.

Or at least take away his power to make transfer decisions unanimously

Francisco Geraldes and Daniel Podence look set to return to us from Moreirense starting next Monday.

Going the other way would be two other players, Ary Papel and Wallyson (winger and midfielder respectively).

Think they'll get any meaningful minutes at Sporting?

If they play like today they will (knocked out Benfica from the league cup)

Really was hoping to see Podence back. I think he can be used to give Gelson some rest without missing his dribbling/pace. Would've liked to see Iuri come back too, see if he could fit in up front next to Dost. He's played well for Boavista the last couple weeks in a more forward position. Plus we could definitely use him on spot pieces. He's staying at Boavista though right?

Really hope to see Geraldes get some minutes, easily the most talented player on moreirense.

Good point. Gelson has looked so tired recently and lost his edge, he needs a break. Podence can provide that spark.

I think Iuri isn't coming back now.

Rumours saying Zeegelaar rejected Norwich, he doesn't want to play in the 2nd division. Would've been a nice deal, since we paid less than 500K for him and rumours were saying he was going for 3.5M

Official: Elias has joined Atletico Mineiro - the Brazilian club pays 2.5M euros for 70% of his rights, with another 1M possible in bonus objectives. Sporting CP keeps 30% of his rights.

His second stint with us saw him play in 16 games, scoring 2 goals. Overall though his second stint with our club was a failure as well. Good luck to him - but please don't return.

Why they brought back a unanimously hated player in the first place, I'll never understand.

Transfer deadline day. Lets see if anyone else leaves.

Sporting confirm that Andre Geraldes (RB) and Ryan Gauld (MF) will remain at the club for the rest of the season after being recalled from Setubal.
