Its a good signing for Stuttgart. Hope he will help the team to get promoted.

Stuttgart (and their coach + Hosogai) is a good call, but why 2. Bundesliga? He needed a tougher test.

Why not? First acclimate to the culture and team then grow with the challenge. It's what Yamaguchi should have tried.

There's apparently also an option to extend the loan for one further year.

I just hope Stuttgart ends up buying him (and gets promoted), it would be the only good thing

I don't see why people are so disappointed. Just one season in Zweite Bundesliga is not a shame.

    1) He can adapt to life in Germany, study the language etc, while competing in a okay league for him.

    2) Could play in Bundesliga next year, having spent a year in Germany and settled with the club.

    3) Stuttgart is going to be under real pressure, and this can help his growth.

    4) Stuttgart, being the most technical (or one of) team in B2, will have to play a very offensive football. Such play will help Asano's growth as well.

Okay but he can play in Bundesliga assuming he does well now.

The fact that they are under real pressure also means that he has little time to adapt. If he won't deliver, he won't play. His rival scored 25 goals last year with Bochum. I suspect Asano might end up playing on the flanks.

    Some positives from Stuttgart are:
    - he has a japanese teammate. Asano barely speaks anything else than japanese.
    - since the level is not as high as the Bundesliga, on paper he can have an easier time.

    2. Buli defenders have trouble with strikers who combine speed and technique. Asano should get plenty of service at Stuttgart, so hopefully the goals will be sailing in soon enough.

    Gimme a break dude.

Um, he came on as a substitute for the last 10 mins with VfB down by a goal. His main contribution was knocking down a header to set up a good shooting opportunity in the box by a teammate.

It appears as though Asano's services are indeed required by the team.

The long journey from Japan to Stuttgart (aka Saiyuki redux Asano Version) is the only possible excuse for this shameful beginning of season.
I hope they keep losing till he start. If not: poor Asano...

I really have no idea what "excuse" you're talking about. Stuttgart isn't obliged to play him, he's not Messi.
    He'll have his chances

Coach Luhukay has resigned, due to a conflict with the management.

    Ouch!
Looks like among other things Luhukay didn't want the last batch of new players which included Asano while management decided they are needed. In that regard I guess this is kinda good news for Asano. As for Hosogai losing his biggest supporter yet again...

Pretty odd, though you figure there were some fundamental issues in their working relationship.

Schindelmeiser is now being quoted as saying that the had a bad feeling from the beginning (wth?). Seems like the usual Stuttgart mess in that they first brought on a strong leader in Luhukay as coach back in May, then proceeded hiring another strong leader in Schindelmeiser as manager and sporting director in one apparently without checking their chemistry. Now they are looking for a new coach "who knows exactly what he wants"...

Pretty even game so far. Asano with a chance around the 23rd minutes. After Terrodde deflects a long ball which reaches Asano along the right side of the attack. However, his shot goes wide of the far post. In the immediate play afterwards, Asano playing from a central position sends a pass towards Maxim on the flank but then shoots it over. Tough angle tho, Maxim should have played a pass back into the middle.
