Interesting... I thought the crowd was a little larger than that last night. I would have guessed around 4000.

I've heard that the last home game (March 5 against Chicago) is being focused on for a heavy sell.

Thanks for posting theses attendance figures!

I went to all of the Sockers home games this season and was really impressed by the size and noise of last Sunday's crowd. The lower bowl of the Valley View Casino Center Arena was completely sold out and there were even some fans sitting above in the terrace sections for only the second time this season.

It was good to see some of those 80's guys at half at the Stars game last night. Alan Hinton, Joey Waters, Billy Crook and Ralph black to name a few...i had to look really hard to recognize them at first!

I had mentioned that the Wave organization was putting on a huge attendance push for today; one of three focused games (the opener, the New Year's Eve game and this one).

So it can be said that when the Wave just opens their door, they will draw 3,200 fans. With a focus, they can get 5,500 to 6,600. Kinda makes me wish they'd hire another person and focus on three more games, too. Then another one and hit the other four.

I couldn't agree more. Whatever they did for yesterday's game needs to be done for all games!

Although I live in KC, I got to attend the San Diego - Ontario game. Seen that arena on TV a hundred times. Really fun event.
    Crowd number was completely legit.

Considering the lead up, the short sales time frame and a Sunday night. That is a fantastic number. Maybe the Sockers can get a real trend going and fetch some big crowds

There were (by the end of the game anyway) more people watching the Baltimore vs Harrisburg game on YouTube than attending the game in Harrisburg. Obviously the short lead times and midweek date make it harder to sell tickets.

The highest number of people viewing that I saw on YouTube for the Blast @ Heat game last night was just over 1,500. Most MASL games that I've noticed on YouTube attract anywhere from 100 - 400 viewers.

That was the best crowd that I've seen at a Sockers game in many years! The team's management deserves a lot of credit for organizing a celebrity halftime game that featured Landon Donovan and several local television and radio personalities.

At least in part as a result of this, the Sockers received a lot of media attention during the days leading up to last Sunday's playoff game. As an added bonus, there was a lot of coverage of team's victory over Ontario in the playoffs and last night our local CBS affiliate (KFMB) showed video highlights of the team's mini game victory along with a nice interview of Matt Clare at yesterday's practice.

Here's a link I found to one of the features shown last week on KFMB:
