Just prepping for the new season. I will try to post reported attendance from each game at the end of every weekend.
Not sure what the Showare center capacity is for Indoor Soccer, but it appears that the Stars (from #s pulled off their ticketing site) they have only about 2,ooo Tickets left for their opener on Saturday, with a decent walk up crowd of 400-600 , they could have a really decent crowd!
I would like to know what the Comets are expecting Saturday evening. Does anyone know? Also, there are several folks on here who DO know what they're talking about, so can one of you guys provide updated rosters with losses vs gains of players for this year? Ah, for each team? A very small request. I'll buy you a cold beverage at any one of the Comets games! A lot of newspapers do this for the big leagues. I find it informational and entertaining posting where each team stands personnel-wise. Just asking.
Looks about half full so far. http://www.ticketmaster.com/kansas-...atid=11&tm_link=search_msg-0_06005127D6D8660D
back from the Kicks game, well done against a first year team but a lonely crowd of 3800 I am guessing. Jamie Lovegrove hasn't missed a beat. Looks fresh in the attack. El Paso will struggle as expected.
2,191 in Allen (ouch)[/QUOTE] wow!!! They didn't fudge that. It honestly did not look that bad, it was bad, but not 2200 bad! Gulp...
You are all too hard on this league. This is at best a semi pro league. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Does anyone else think the season is starting too early? Four games, in four of the more stable franchise cities, announced months in advance and the average announced attendance does not eclipse 3K. As a fan, I am delighted to have games to watch, sort of, (sorry Go Live), but from a business perspective you have to wonder if it is worthwhile to play the games when only the most engaged fans are going to attend. Beyond just the attendance numbers, the productions themselves had a "pulled together quickly" feel to them and the quality of the feeds did not help.
I do not feel that the timing of the season's start affected yesterday's attendance. Tacoma's 2,871 is more than its 2015-16 average of 2,462. Thanks, Kenn. http://www.kenn.com/the_blog/?page_id=7864 San Diego's 3,025 is close to last year's average of 3,162. Thanks, Kenn, again. http://www.kenn.com/the_blog/?page_id=7864 Dallas is still probably paying for 2015 offseason strife. Kansas City is not drawing like they used to, and offseason strife may be another factor as well.
This year's start is actually a few days later than last year's. Here's the date of the first game every year going back to 2001: 10/29/2016 10/24/2015 10/25/2014 11/15/2013 11/02/2012 11/03/2011 11/12/2010 11/13/2009 11/15/2008 (NISL) 12/13/2008 (XSL) 10/19/2007 11/04/2006 11/06/2005 10/09/2004 10/04/2003 09/28/2002 10/20/2001 And they didn't even know which teams were in the league until September 9. Three of those four teams announced smaller crowds than for their 2015-2016 home openers. (Dallas drew 1,750 a year ago, the others were higher.) But this is where things are with this product now, regardless of when you start the season.
Don't think these numbers are too horrible for Halloween weekend. 300 or so per game more would have been outstanding. I for one am optimistic for this season. I think Tacoma and Ontario will draw decent numbers this season.would love to see 1 or 2 5k plus games for them this year. I do think Soccers crowds will smaller this year.
I'm a little disappointment in Kansas City specially opening day (3,302). Even though it was the highest attended game of opening weekend. Unfortunately I think that's going to be around the average attendance for the Comets this season Cedar Rapids Rampage, Harrisburg Heat, Ontario Fury and Tacoma Stars. I think will be the biggest growth in attendance this season from their previous season. Dallas Sidekicks, I was waiting over the summer to see if they would fold. I was happily surprised to see they're playing this season. Since they have been back the attendances has dropped by a 1,000 fans per season. 2012-13: 5,041 2013-14: 4,002 2014-15: 3,631 2015-16: 2,211 Chicago Mustangs, Milwaukee Wave, San Diego Sockers and Syracuse Silver Knights their average attendance will be around 2,000 to 3,000 per game. Baltimore Blast, Sonora Suns and St. Louis Ambush. Their average attendance 5,000 to 6,000. For the expansion teams El Paso Coyotes and Florida Tropics. Well, what I saw from the Coyotes game last night 1,000 to maybe 2,000. The Tropics, I'm thinking 2,000 to maybe 3,000. I know that the people who owned the Ambush now own the Tropics, but St. Louis has a better history of indoor soccer then Lakeland, FL. Atletico Baja and Turlock Express are not even worth talking about attendance wise.
Friday, November 4, 2016 Tacoma Stars at Turlock Express - 600 (exactly) Milwaukee Wave at Kansas City Comets - 3,787 Dallas Sidekicks at El Paso Coyotes - no report except local newspaper says "a couple thousand" (for what it's worth)
