If it comes to that our GD will create problem same as last year. Our win margin is always low compared to remaining top 5. Our finishing is the main culprit.I read some where today that we have the lowest chance conversion rate in PL. Sent from my LG-D802T using Tapatalk
Shaw definitely seems recovered as he's been pictured training with the rest of the team. Imagine it will not be too long before we see him back on the pitch. The 2nd leg of the EFL semis vs Hull might be a good game to bring him back.
Did we ever here if Martial was carrying a knock or if he was just left out of the squad against Stoke?
Martial wasnt at training today - press are in full speculation mode, something is clearly going on ... http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...nchester-united-news-anthony-martial-12492713 http://metro.co.uk/2017/01/23/chels...ctured-in-manchester-united-training-6400600/
There's hardly any difference between Martial's current situation and what guys like Miki or Shaw have experienced (and perhaps still do to this day with Shaw) recently. Jose obviously has his way of doing things and you're either in or you're out. And he will flex his muscles if need be to show who's the boss. Martial will either have to accept this as others have learned before or he'll end up leaving. His agent, I imagine, is surely not helping and probably putting things in his head and it would not be surprising if he's a big part of any issues between Jose and Martial. He already said publicly in the press that Martial needs to stop listening to what his agent says when he was floating that move to Sevilla. That's as clear a condemnation there is and couple that with stories about Martial's entourage being unhappy with him being dropped and it's not hard to put 2+2 together. Really hoping ultimately that all this ends up being is just a lot of noise and everything will work itself out.
At least there appeared to be some good news on the Jones front. Desn't appear to be a hamstring pull as it looked, but he just hurt his foot and it's bruised. He expects to be out only a few days.
Jones and Rojo were the only players missing when the team got back in training today. Both are serious doubts for this weekend's game vs Watford.
CB is really one of our least worries at the moment, especially as long as one of the starting spots in Bailly's. Guessing that means we'll probably see Tuanzebe on the bench for this one, if both Jones and Rojo are actually unavailable.
It seems like JM prefers keeping Bailly and Smalling together and Jones and Rojo together. Given their skill sets, it makes sense. Smalling isn't great but him paired with Bailly is good enough.
Rooney is back in training today and could be in contention for tomorrow's game and this weekend's EFL final.
And now I guess to find out what the prognosis will be for both Miki and Carrick, who both appear to have picked up something today.
They will both be out. Mourinho took a risk and it backfired. Trying to rush their recovery would be an even worse decision.
There was little doubt for Sunday, especially for Miki. The real question is how long he'll be out for at this stage. If it's a month, it could hurt...
It is ok. Don't rush them back and they will be fresh for the busy period. That's the best we can do now.
There's definitely an argument that, if we're going to lose important players, it would be better for it to be now as opposed to later in the season when the schedule will be murder. Opportunity for someone to step up. Carrick's injury apparently is his calf again. Same type of injury that kept him out for a while before, so I guess we'll see what happens there as well.
we can get along without Miki this weekend as long as we don't start both Mata and Jesse. Get both Martial and Rashford to run at defenders from the start. Bring on Jesse late for Mata to add some energy.
On the injury front, Jones looks to be back in contention for this weekend's game. Miki has stepped up his recovery, but he's still a doubt for this weekend. Best to take our time with him, even if it means he misses out on Bournemouth. He will much more needed later on.
