*sniiiif* Ah that new thread smell. Good link to start us out, SoCal. So, "Destination 2020".... ambitious goals but sounds like a Disney World ride
This page is not updated for the 2015 season yet. I follow him on Twitter and I'm sure he has left the club. It would be nice from the club to give us informations about our roster for this season. First game is in about a month.
I suspect there are so many trialists and so many players who might or might not move up to LAG1 that they don't know who is going to be on LAG2 at this point.

So Mendiola is going to spend another year with G2. Was wondering why it didn't look like he went to Europe. Looks like we may have to tone down the rhetoric about him because this would look like one of his best chances to grab a spot on the first team. With a spot open in the first 11 plus a couple spots open on the bench he would be a great change of place if he was up for it. He might also have visa/passport issues and, if so, then scratch everything I said.
Wow, bummed about that if that's the case (another year with G2). Seemed like he'd have a great opportunity to get minutes with the left flank up for grabs. Does this maybe mean that Arena favors Jose Villarreal over him?
Bowen's first goal : http://www.yourcentralvalley.com/st...sive-soccer-move/30653/gy20kgGs20y644gYTYHZUg And a little more informations on our bench :
Diop, Diallo and Bli getting the start, and a new Frenchman on the bench (Thomas Monconduit) by the way. I'll try to get more on him in the next few days. A few photos found on Diop Instagram account :
Interesting roster. Bunch of players missing, particularly at GK and forward. Are they injured or out or known quantities so didn’t need to play? What I could find: GK Diop: Looks like the clear starter Snedden: Academy product going to Duke so I doubt he would be signed. Laurendi: Released and went to Austen Aztex Shakelford: ?? Lopez: Bradenton Forward Bowen: Still hanging in there Amaya: Is this a hint he might be signed? Mark Cruz: ’96 listed with the Galaxy U-18 team Mackenzie Pridham: CPSLO product. Drafted by Vancouver and played for Minnesota. McBean: injured Rugg: ??
I still have a feeling we're going to start Husidic on the left with the Finn in the middle (not that I'm excited about it) which leaves one or two spots on the bench. It looks like Jamieson, Villareal and Maganto are all ahead of Mendiola and I'm not sure I would disagree.
I don't think we can make that determination because we haven't even seen Mendiola play this year yet. If he has fallen that fast I will be surprised (honestly one of the best on G2 last year when wasn't injured). Let's see how the beginning of the season starts.
What happened to Del Campo? I thought he would have played with GII while the G's were away (since he didn't go).
I agree, it's not settled but I think I was less impressed by Mendiola than others. Here's a very conservative lineup but I think not inconsistent with how Bruce thinks. Zardes Keane Ishizaki Vayrynen Juninho Husidic DeLaGarza Gonzalez Leonardo Rogers Penedo with a bench of Gordon Buddle Jamieson/Villarreal/Mendiola/Maganto Walker/Auras Meyer Dunivant Rowe The only bit of flexibility comes with Buddle and I have no idea of where he stands (and if he doesn't turn out then I think not getting a forward was one of the failures of the off season). But there's a lot of competition for that one substitute wide mid spot. I could see Bruce rotating the players through there with no one getting much playing time.
That's the way I look at it also. But with injuries more spots open up. It just seems like now would be a great opportunity to be battling the Jamiesons/Villarreals/etc for that spot. Not travelling on this European tour doesn't look good. Unless Bruce expects the kiddie corps to become a big part of our offense I would think getting an experienced wide player would be a bigger error. Jamieson technically can play forward so he is cover there, along with any of the smaller guys (Maganto, Villarreal, Mendiola). At the wide positions is where I am worried if we will have a good enough player so that Keane and Zardes don't have to carry us. I suspect Ishi will become a bigger part of the offensive pie but we need someone else on the other side to balance it out. Either that or Ishi is going to have to make a quantum leap.
He did get injured before the tour right? That's why he didn't play on the last domestic friendly and like it's been mentioned the kid has had persistent passport issues, it's why he never signed overseas, so that could be a factor.
