Try to meet them at the hotel. They're staying at the Sheraton. That's where they're most likely to bolt.
Good idea. So if any Cubans are reading this, I'll be in the blue Volvo Wagon. I can fit 4 in the seats (I'll tell my son to stay home) and maybe two others in the back.
You are right. Couple of exceptions aside, this tends not to be our best tournament. 2002 and 2009 come to mind as exceptions. We could throw excuses like the fact that we are basically always the away side (the only team a stadium full of Salvadorans would back us up against would be Mexico, and in that case the stadium is full of Mexicans anyway), or that we tend to always miss several players for one reason or another. In reality I think that it's purely psychological. We come up with all those excuses and tell ourselves that it's not an obligation for us to win it like it is for USA and MEX. It should be an obligation if we really want to consider ourselves a CCCF powerhouse, unfair hosting and draws aside. We should've been able to take one by now, if even Canada could. We'll never win it until we change our mindset.
But who knows. We are only one match in. There's still chance for this to be the edition were the mindset changes.
Guatemala is a lot worse than I thought. Credit to T&T, though. Edit: And right after I sent that, Guatemala scored one.
I've only seen the highlights of the Guat-T&T game, but it made it look like the scoreline did not quite reflect the way the game was played. It seemed to be all Guatemala in the second half, with some unbelievable misses.
4 changes from last time: - Sabo in for Venegas. I guess this is to take advantage of El Salvador's short avg height. - Myrie in for Gamboa, who's got a little injury. - Guzman and Calvo in for the underperforming Cubero and Diaz. I just don't know why Miller is still on the teamsheet and Umaña isn't.
I insist: Miller costs us a goal EVERY FREAKING GAME HE PLAYS! Why is he there? It just boggles the mind. First half was awful for us. Second half was much better. But, as always, a stupid mistake by Roy Miller takes two points away.
With Jamaica looking good to win the Group, this throws CR into Mexico's half and Jamaica into the US half, if Jamaica wins its next won, barring a real meltdown by CR Interesting times
It was an improvement from our first match despite the result. The El Salvador game was just awful. Anyways Canadian soccer just seems to be at an all time low.
Until Canada gets a league of its own it's never going to be enough to keep track with everybody else. Especially since most MLS teams count their players as foreigners
In spite of a poor start, Costa Rica now only needs to beat Canada to advance. The way Canada is playing, it should be easy for Los Ticos.
Outside of Cuba, pretty decent tournament so far for the Carribbean teams. And outside of Kenwyne Jones who has been T&Ts best facilitator, a lot of the solid performances seem to come from MLS players.
