Great result, a deserved 3rd place, hopefully can springboard from this to challenge for the Euro championships..

Well done to them. They've shown they can compete with the very best and have surely inspired a generation.

Funny you say that, I've been checking where any local teams play :) Nowhere near here is the short answer :(

Nevertheless... it's bound to make a difference :)

Would be interesting to see some comparisons with the German set up and their investment in womens football compared to ours. Hopefully this exposure can bring the game on so future teams can compete more regularly.

Unfortunately we're still behind France and Germany I feel. In 2 years time, who knows though? We might be able to close the gap, especially with France.

I'm so glad that our penalty call was actually a penalty, otherwise it would feel tarnished.

We were also very lucky that the Germans didn't score on that free header at the end.

France were better than Germany this world cup, really should have won. I'd put them as favourites for the next Euros.

Congratulations, England displayed a really strong performance against one of the favourites of the tournament.

We had one of those earlier on AND that one where Scott just needed to hit the target after Aluko played her in. In terms of good chances we were ahead, even if we weren't in terms of possession.

Hey! Let's be honest, we ain't gonna feel guilty about the krauts losing... and CERTAINLY not for 'bad luck', are we :)

The u-19s will play in the U-19 Euros in a week 1/2. Our u-17s made it to the euros and barely missed out from the semis. Last year we got to the u-20 WC, but didn't get out of out group by finishing 3rd. Our u-23s don't look to good based off of past results.

These are all team results because I don't know where to find individual stats or articles. Still with age range in the team we should be looking good for the Euros and WC in the next couple of years.

Most of our key players will be in the 29-33 age range by 2019. Decent. Should be solid for the Euros though in 2017.

Would have made it especially sweet if Williams had celebrated doing that awful strut that Andreas Moller did against us way back in 96. Nothing against the Germans but would just have been funny. :p

Well done to the women's team. Did well.

However I am a little baffled as to why this has been taking up so much of the news recently.
