England play tomorrow against France at 6pm BST. Been some decent games so far. Particularly Sweden v Nigeria a few hours ago.

I also assume this will be an other teams thread too.

Sauerbrun, who is starting for the U.S. as a CB, went to my high school in St. Louis.

The USA Austrailia game so far has been fun to watch.

I see either a French blowout, a close encounter that ends in a draw or we squeak through with a 1-0 victory. France have had our number for awhile. Beat us in pens in 2011 and beat us badly in the 2013 Euro's.

This should be our hardest encounter in the group phase that we should get out of.

    Yeah, any team thread.

Didn't expect the US to be so poor. Look very predictable.

We have a lot of attacking options. Duggan (10 goals in qualifying), White, Sanderson, and Aluko (13 goals in qualifying). We also have a good back 4 and a decent midfield.

It doesn't help that Morgan isn't playing, but yeah their back 4 has been poor. Solo is not the best keeper in the world anymore, but I knew that going in. She's still pretty good.

Other than the failed header attempt by Wambach, the U.S. haven't had any clear cut chances. Austrailia have had the better chances when they've had possession in the final third.

So if we finish runner-up we will most likely get Norway because they have Germany in their group and the other 2 teams are siht. Then after that we'll probably play either Holland or Cananda from group A. Not a bad draw if that all happens. If we do top the group then we'll get the runner-up of group E, won't be easy, but then if we win, we'll most likely play Germany and we've never beaten them.

    I'd rather finish runner-up.

It was good that they let the American coach take time off from filming The Walking Dead to coach the team -

Germany look far superior to anything else I've seen so far and they were very strong at the Euros.

Imo, there's a big gulf in class between France and England.

Kelly Smith is turning out to be an excellent contributor on Fox's WWC coverage.

PK to Japan and that was a terrible decision by the ref. Shot was saved and then the keeper knocked into the Jap on the follow through.

    Japan scores. 1-0.

Before the goal Switzerland were in it and doing well.

Now the female commentators are debating on whether it was a pen. Before that the "doctor" was adament it was a pen because of how hard the Swiss keeper crashed into the Japanese striker.

I don't know the big teams have been challenged pretty well so far. Austrailia gave the USA a good game. Canada only beat China on a late penalty kick. Nigeria tied Sweden 3-3. Currently Switzerland are giving Japan everything they can handle losing 1-0.

Not starting. Seem to be playing a defensive line up.

    What a joke.
Leaving the best striker on the bench and going for a draw..
    typical FA trained manager .

To be fair this manager is not bad, miles better than Hope Powell.

I hope he knows what he is doing leaving out Duggan. She looked very sharp in training..

Playing really defensive and France take the lead. 1-0. Keeper should have saved that.

This is kinda the same approach we had against the USA a couple months ago. Really dissapointing.
