This is the next youth tourney in CONCACAF. It'll follow the same format as the U20 Championships with 2 groups of 6, the winners advancing to the championship and World Cup, and the 2nd and 3rd place teams meeting in a playoff. It'll run from February 27th to March 15th and games will be in San Pedro Sula. Group A: Honduras Guatemala Trinidad and Tobago USA Cuba Jamaica Group B: Canada Costa Rica Haiti Mexico Panama Saint Lucia
Concacaf is obsessed with creating Mexico Usa finals at all levels even if that means "helping" out a bit
lulz. yeah you'll never see a Mex vs nads quarter/semifinals they can only ever meet up in the final >_>
Since so many of you have seen all these teams play, can you please give me a scouting report of the teams in the USA's group?
Seriously? No conspiracy here. The US always plays with the host because they are typically a bit easier than Mexico. Whatever can be said of the easiness of the group has to do with it being the host's group not the US' group. End of. Some of you need to take off your green foil hats.
Please in the ccl it's blatantly set up that way. Last gold cup Panama had to try and beat the Usa twice if they were to make the final because concacaf doesn't want Mexico and the Usa to face each other in the ko rounds. It's insulting to pretend that isn't the case even Olympic qualifiers that the Usa hosts are set up that way so your theory about it simply trying to help the host holds no water
I have, and It would be a pleassure to tell you, but i have the feeling that if I tell all what I Know you will be like " Pulisic is a beast, he is a crack or Wright and De La Torre are above every mexican" Jajajaja besides you block me so.. meh
Sigh! What you are complaining about is something different. You are complaining about why the US and Mexico are always supposed to meet in the finals. The problem that was being alluded by the other posters was that the US "always" gets the "easier" group. My point was that in the new format we are seeing in youth tournaments this year the US has always been in the host group. Basically, the only thing happening here is that the host is getting what is likely the slightly easier seed, the slightly easier second rank, etc. Something that is typical in tournaments. As for your point. Yes, Mexico and the US will always be setup to play in the final. Always. It's not even a conspiracy when it is so blatant.
You will excuse the misunderstanding given your glib tin foil post. Though both points aren't worlds apart
anyone know sth about the teams this year? " In order to accomplish that objective, St Lucia has been training regularly with 25 players, but school commitments have limited sessions to once per week. As the competition looms, however, weekend camps have now been added to the program, as Albert finalizes preparations. “We have now stepped up our preparation in that we are now having camp on weekends,” he explained. “Because of school work, we are unable to have the kids every day, so we have one day during the week and on weekends we bring them together" st lucia looks like the aruba of the u20s.. mexico and usa strong as usually? any teams which can be a surprise (positive/negative) ?
No clue about most of the teams. Best players on the US team are the GK Silva, #8 De La Torre, #10 Pulisic and #9 Wright. The numbers might be mixed up, but those are normally their numbers for the US U-17's.
Group A , too predictable........ Group B, the fight will be between Costa Rica, Panama and Canada.......
