14 clubs played 26 games and then split into a Championship Group for the top six and a Relegation Group for the bottom eight. The Championship Group is 10 games, making a total of 36. Two clubs played their second Championship Group game already and the other four clubs play today. Hapoel Be'er Sheva leads with 65 points. Maccabi Tel Aviv has 64 points and leads in goal differential. Beitar Jerusalem is in third, Bnei Sakhnin is in fourth, Maccabi Haifa is in fifth, and Hapoel Ra'anana is in sixth. Since Ligat Ha'al was formed in 1999, Hapoel Be'er Sheva has not won a title. Soccerway says they have won two titles before that.

Second place Maccabi Tel Aviv will move up to first if they beat Beitar Jerusalem today. Hapoel Be'er Sheva (6 games left) leads Maccabi Tel Aviv (7 games left, 6 games left after today) by 2 points. Third place Beitar Jerusalem is 14 points behind Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva leads by 5 points with 2 games left. The tiebreaker is goal differential. Maccabi Tel Aviv must win on Saturday and have Hapoel Be'er Sheva draw or lose to make the title be decided on the last day.
