Gotoku back in the starting lineup vs. BVB. Ito makes the bench.

He was just subbed out 2 minutes into second half without obvious injury or anything making the commentator wonder what's the point.

Sakai was kinda bad, tbh. He had a terrible foul for which he was lucky to escape receiving a red card.

Ito made his Bundesliga debut. He had a nice action, I'll try to find it.

Ito was also at fault for the last goal with nowhere near marking up on his man

That goal actaully happens only because one CB is not in line with everyone else, thus nullifying the offside. Besides, the player you're speaking about is marked by another defender, who at the last moment forgets about him and goes on another opponent which was already marked

Don't get me wrong other defender came in and that guy was probably mostly at fault, but still feel Ito should have been more aware of his surroundings, was marking thin air which is still a sidemidfielders job . Doesn't matter though, hopefully goes onto play more and play consistent games in the bundesliga.

Surprised to see him making progress and made it to the starting line-up.

    Good Luck.

Ito already looking better than Sekine. He is small but has a good fighting spirit.

Sekine has nearly 170 competitive matches against Ito's 1. Calm down.

Both Ito and Gotoku with a strong match today. For the first time this season Gotoku showed his worth from last season with decent positioning in the defense and good movements in attacks (he had a nice shot after a corner). Ito was a revelation and his left side was where HSV was dominating until he had to be subbed out due to cramps after 53 min (he was applauded both by other players and the audience when he left the field).

Awesome to watch his progress in the first team out of nowhere. Lucky to have a great mentor in Gotoku, apparently he's watched Ito's games in the reserves on his days off.

The talent of the Kashiwa academy is impressive.

Well, this year Ito was breaking it in Regionalliga, strictly data-speaking I think he had produced something like 5 assists in 7 games. Obviously for us it still comes as a surprise.

Ito got a huge ovation from the crowd when he came off, stoked by a clapping Papadopoulos. Great moment.

Start for Sakai and bench for Ito against Bayern at home:

Let's hope for Ito to come off the bench and rip Bayern apart (wishful thinking at its best;)).

Came in as a sub in the 76th minute, with Hamburg 0-1 down with a player sent off during the first half.
