It is easy to look dangerous on the counter. It is harder to do that against 9 men behind the ball. I saw Müller and others several times making runs but the pass didn't come. The point of playing the full backs that high was exactly made to stretch their defense and it worked in the first half. It also put the pressure on guys like Payet to invest more in defending which made him almost invisible for the match. It is risky, though. What was of cource lacking was a true CF to receive these crosses and bind the CBs.
I think overall Germany had the better of the run of play, especially in the first half before the handball.
France looked dangerous whenever they attacked. Griezeman's chance in the first 10 minutes did not from a counter. Further if you cannot break a team down, then maybe sometimes you should let them have the ball and utilise the art of defending yourlself. Muller made runs, but he was alone. Can and Draxler aren't intelligent enough off the ball whilst Schweinsteiger has no legs. The point of playing full backs that high is too overload the midfield and allow the team to maintain possession easier. However, it backfires and leaves you easily open to the counter on the wings. The strategy might have been useful if Germany were blessed with excellent wing backs or had lots of runners making runs into the box. Germany does not have either and as you said did not have a dominant centre forward. So why play in such a way? Loew played a style of football which depended on great full backs, a classic big centre forward and midfielders with lots of energy. Yet if I was to pick Germany's three biggest weaknesses it would be those 3 areas.
If Muller was as good as Draxler, Ozil or Can in that match we'd have taken the lead during the 35-40 minutes of the first half that we dominated. *shrug*
People need to calm down. Germany put on a clinic in the first half.... and then lost the plot after the penalty. The only disagreements I have with Loew are: - Starting Can alongside Schweini - He should have brought in Schurrle and not Gotze. Yes they struggled in front of goal, but without Gomez and with Mueller in a funk, that wasn't surprising. We still had multiple good chances: - Kroos in the first ten minutes (I still think that was a foul). - Mueller put it across 5 yards out but Draxler just couldn't get on it. - Schweini just over the bar. - Mustafi put it 40 yards over the bar - Howedes had a great header stopped. - Kimmich hit the bar.
So the trouble our guys caused during the German Cup final is now catching up to us. In addition to a fine (75.000€) we are also on parole. If something like that happens again until the 31.05.2017 we will be forced to close the yellow wall partly (excluding 15.000 viewers) for one match. And all of this because some retards want to (literally) play with fire. Sor far only articles in Germanare available. http://www.dfb.de/news/detail/bvb-7...schauer-teilausschluss-auf-bewaehrung-149794/
Matthäus Sammer has asked to be released from his contract. Only thing left to do is sign the release papers. Wow. Came out of nowhere. Looks like he's trying to overcome some sort of sickness. Cancer maybe? He's always looked like a cancer patient.
eh,no worry. bayern can still do good without MS. still,i can't feel sorry about MS condition mainly because when he ignorantly told sport1 that what make bayern better than other BL teams is that they have better training method. that's bullshit! everyone knows that it's only money that make them better. oh, and also when he fought klopp back in 2013.that man is pure definition of dickhead. and he also used to be our guy. MS did what gotze did before it was cool. call me evil or anything, i don't care. that's a suitable karma for MS. now i'm confused on which MS i was talking about.
Sammer was certainly confrontational, but that's a big part of why he was such an all time great player before his knee exploded. That kampferish-ness is what drove him too success, so it's tough to expect him to change after his playing career ended.
He was one of the reasons I fell in love with this club. I don't think we ever replaced his leadership. Actually we sort of did with Dede but nobody else since.
Samesies. I've always had a soft spot for my fellow DDR-born athletes; and Sammer was (by far) my favorite as a little kid.
My username messing everyone up... YES! BVB has had crap set-pieces for a long time. It'll be nice to actually see some goals from those positions.
Bayern released that it has nothing to do with his illness but refected to give any other statement upon the reasons.
suggesting cancer or other sickness as a karma? There is something more in life than being a football fan. Have a beer, take a walk at the beach, make love to your girlfriend.
BVB U23 for 2016-2017 season.with bonmann share his duties with senior team. most probably none of them will make it to senior team. even hummels-esque jon stankovic get axed.
interview with Dortmund's Hannes Wolf, coach of Germany's number one youth program http://www.goal.com/de/news/3643/ex...s-bleibt-nicht-bei-christian-und?ICID=HP_BN_1 apologies, it is in german
So now player nourishment is called into question. Last I checked players usually have dinner and breakfast at home. http://www.espnfc.com/borussia-dort...d-hit-out-at-media-over-low-carb-diet-reports
Players are usually still strongly recommend to follow the diet layed out by the team. To blame the Pokal final result on it is pretty hilarious though.
