What does MLS playing during FIFA dates have to do with the postponed Montreal games? If anything playing during FIFA dates should make it easier for MLS to fit games in. I like MLS and I don't like when the Mexicans call it Mickey Mouse, but the sentence I quoted doesn't make MLS clubs' performance in the CCL look better.
So which MLS minnows are Mexican clubs going to feed on this year? Please tell me xbox fc and the Gals are in it.
Lol thanks, that's what I get for not reading the OP. So the Sounders and the Galaxy are both in. Cool I always enjoy seeing them go home. And LOL I had to do a double take at San Francisco fc.
Btw, current and aspiring US national team members know they can't screw around in CCL games, since Klinsmann gives a demonstrable damn about how MLS teams fare on the continental stage - just check his several Champions League-related tweets.
For once, a smaller team won't have to burn its home games at the start: according to FutbolNica, Walter Ferretti will host their group stage opponents in September.
Full schedule now on MLSsoccer.com. Interesting observations - Vancouver and Seattle play each other a few days after facing each other in MSL: Seattle @ Vancouver on August 5th (They play each other in Seattle on August 1st) Vancouver @ Seattle on September 22nd (They play each other in Vancouver on September 19th)
In 2014-2015, there was a near equal split with 23 games at 8:00 P.M. and 25 games at 10:00 P.M. Now two-thirds (32) of the games will be at 10:00 P.M.
"If only the FMF will move our schedule so we are not on "Pre-Season" form when playing the knockout stages of the Continental Championship against teams at mid-season..." Oh wait.
It's Christmas for you, me and Paul, the 3 Wise Men of the CCL . Love this tourney, and discussing it with yall. We've been here since the beginning
...and down here, my cable provider finally decided to allow FOX Sports 2 and 3 on its regular programming, just in time to catch CCL on TV for the first time since FOX won the rights from ESPN. More than anything, I'm anxious to see the new venues involved this time - FFB Field, the National Stadium in Nicaragua (which has seen several high-profile games on the NT level, of course, but never an opponent as illustrious as América) and Montego Bay United's digs, assuming the lighting gets CONCACAF approval.
Bro, a separate thread for the 1st week of the CCL is not necessary, this thread will suffice for the entire Group Stage. Then we'll have 1 thread for the KO rounds, everything nice and tidy in 2 separate packages.
@IASocFan Let's have a moderator quickly decide if a separate topic is necessary and lock the other topic if it isn't necessary so we don't have duplicate discussions.
I suggest we let the other topic go. Let's put in-match commentary, analysis and discussion in the other thread. Let's save this thread for more general commentary - and less trolling comments about other nations. If the other thread receives a lot of discussion, we can continue. The other thread is: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/2015-16-ccl-group-stage-week-one-r.2023220/
