    Whoops, someone went off-script...
    =edit=
Despite following this thread, I apparently misattributed the first goal in my mind...

79' 3-4 Italy ping ball around at 14m box left, RCB #2 Veronica Herrera steps out to challenge, receives a foot-stomp on her heel or foottop. She goes down and stays down. #7 Bergamaschi backpasses to #10 Giugliano at 25m arc left. She stops ball, chips over the top to #8 Flavinia Simonetti running through box top mid-right to 12m right-to-centerline -- onside! Simonetti controls to centerline, shoots hard under Caceres.

83' 3-4 Venezuela right corner, #9 Castellanos drives a header down to 1/3 left. Durante dives and blocks ball across to 5m 6-left. García almost sneaks past her backshielding defender, kicks ball first but can't turn it goalward.

Big referee mistake... foul not called on Herrera, game not stoped and goal... gutted...

87' 3-4 #4 Cavicchia stretchered into touch, in tears, writhing as trainers examine left knee :(
89' 3-4 Italy subs in (3 of 3) MF #20 Beatrice Merlo for RM #4 Federica Cavicchia (left knee).

90+3' (of +3') 3-4 Venezuela longball, García gets loose to 9m 6-left. Hops for a free header, Durante dives and blocks ball wide and over.

90+4' (of +3') 3-4 Venezuela left corner, all but GK Caceres into the box. Italy clear it over endline right.

90+4' (of +3') 4-4 Venezuela right corner, Caceres comes up!! Outswing toward Castellanos at 9m center, Italy head it out above box arc top. Moreno(?) pops ball 3m straight up, waits under and chips it back in -- two Venezuelans are passive offside, but walk away from endline. Ball drops to RCB #4 Serrano stepping up to 9m 1/4 right, one-touch knockback to RB #3 Sandra Luzardo at 10m spot. She steps forward and flicks right foottop, rising into upper left back.

    FT 4-4. PKs!!

    What a match!!!
Of course my hero from previous PKs Giugliano missed today. :D
Anyway, she was best player today for her team, congratulations to bronze medalist Italy!

(btw, If I had such a young team, I think I'd put Garcia, Castellanos and Rodriquez first on the list to get those three goals and confidence. )

Does anyone know if Giugliano was officially MVP of the match?

I wish I could help answer that. My broadcaster has switched to basketball.

Anyone know where I can watch Japan vs Spain online ?

05' 1-0 Japan backpass behind box top right, RB-as-RM #2 Matsubara drives a long shot to center high -- #1 del Toro jumps falling-backward and touches ball onto crossbar. As she falls into goal, ball drops softly to 4m center. #11 Meika Nishida rounds her ballwatching defender from the left, blasts into the roof.

07' 1-0 Japan left corner, curls over endline at 6-left foot. #8 Hasegawa leans over endline, heads ball back into the goalmouth -- confuses del Toro, who double-blocks ball up into her own back left!! No goal -- ball ruled out over endline first :p Spain are looking a bit shell-shocked in back ...

For people in the States: Final is on live on Univision Deportes. Ch. 455 on Direct.

Edit: nice to see Univision provide some match analysis at half-time, unlike ESPN, which runs men's match reports during a women's youth tournament.:rolleyes:

Enrique Bermudez and Hristo Stoichkov are match commentators.

53' 1-0 Spain subs in (1 of 3) MF #14 Aitana Bonmati for FW-as-LB #11 Carmen Menayo Montero.

54' 1-0 #7 Kobayashi runs onto a perfect entry pass through box top mid-right -- one touch too many, to 7m 6-right. Shoots hard toward center, del Toro stares her down and double-blocks it out.

56' 1-0 Japan surge from deep box left, pass to arc top center. #8 Hasegawa shoots right instep on the run, beats del Toro but gets no bend -- just wide right.

57' 1-0 Japan right throw-in at midfield. RB #16 Yu Endo, in touch, waves to a ballboy -- takes a tiny hop-back to catch ball on the bounce, and -- her left calf hammer-cramps? She sits down, can't take the throw-in. Japan resume with 10!

58' 1-0 Spain fk from center circle top centerline -- Japan still with 10. #17 Sandra Hernández Rodríguez sails it high over the bar. Endo still down with 2 trainers testing her leg ...

60' 1-0 Endo cannot resume, is helped to the bench.
61' 1-0 Japan subs in (1 of 3) FW #13 Fuka Kono for RB #16 Yu Endo. It's like the gag commercial about the linesman who gets injured during the Super Bowl coin toss -- but the joke's on us ...
