Watching the Chungcheong derby (Chungju vs Daejeon; also first vs last) and theres a familiar face in the Chungju side, and then I realised it was Yoo Jong-hyun. Didnt even know he moved. And of course Daejeon Citizens are winning 2:0 (in the first half). Jung Suk-min header from corner. And then who else? but Adriano with a FK goal. Must be like 20th goals or something surely.
Yoo Jong Hyun to me will always be kim shin wook if ksw stayed as a central back, well at least a faster version of yjh
Adriano 20 goals in 19 games. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=663463460415300 Daejeon are currently 1st with 16 points separating them with the second place place team.
13 matches consecutively without a loss at home; no losing game at home in 2014 (11W 2D) The two fullbacks, both on loan making the difference - Lim Chang-woo (Ulsan) & Jang Won-suk (Jeju): http://sports.media.daum.net/sports/soccer/newsview?newsId=20140810090906234 On a related note: I totally forgot Lim Chang-woo was an option for the Asian Games. We have found the solution to the RB problem as he will be the starting RB at the Asian Games if he is picked (which he should be).
Ansan came back from 3-1 to defeat Suwon FC 4-3. Ansan has obviously taken on the wise words of Bonfrere. "If our defense concedes 3 goals then our strikers must score 4 goals." - Jo Bonfrere Also, Eland manager, Martin Rennie, was at the match.
I agree, a pretty uninspiring name. If you looked at the submissions that people sent in for the club's names though, a lot of them were Seoul E-Land or something to that effect. E-Land must be a much more popular brand than I thought for people to want to name the club after it Btw, is it actually confirmed they'll be playing K2 next season?
One commenter on the Facebook post where they announced the name: "그동안의 기대가 허무한거 같네요...." Pretty much sums up my feelings as well. Not my club so I'm not going to say they 'should've' picked a different name, but the selection process itself does seem rather anticlimactic. I think most people knew (or at least assumed) for the last few months what the name would be. No voting or narrowing it down to a few submissions either afaik.
Results: Anyang 2-1 Goyang Daejeon 1-0 Daegu Both teams scored their winning goals on the 90th min. Adriano scores his 21st goal of the season.
Is this the standard size for clubhouses in K-League? It seems much bigger than many J-League and J2 clubhouses. Did the players also live in the clubhouse, it seems as theyhad their own beds and tables?
they played in the top flight ever since their conception but they were actually relegated to our 2nd tier division last year. most clubs in the top flight have a clubhouse around the similar size but they have one of the bigger clubhouses
I'm surprised that Daejeon are running away with the league. They didn't seem that much better than Daegu or Gangwon (or at all, really) last year. Adriano and Seo Myungwon must be really good to create an 18-point lead for Daejeon. Something needs to be done about the name though...KL Classic and KL Challenge?
Honestly I'm a little surprised too. Daejeon defends relatively well, perhaps that's a reason, but honestly I just think it's thanks to Adriano's finishing, making gopals out of nothing. But hey, I'm a Daejeon fan, so I'll take it!
