I dont agree, excellent coach no doubt but not better than these, although I wonder why Tabarez is there.
Better than most on the list and have achieved a lot with a limited squad. Better than Wilmots, Tabarez, Klinsmann, Sabella and Prandelli. The rest is debatable. Given his success deserves to be on the list ahead of Wilmots, Sabella and the sorts. Given his skills he should be above the coaches I mentioned in the first paragraph.
Agree completely, which is why he should not be top 3 but def. better than the ones you mentioned. Maybe 6th or 7th.
Not quite sure such a list is useful in a non-tournament year. It's not as if Del Bosque or Löw have done anything amazing last year
The year before a WC is actually the busiest full year for NTs so if its not useful in 2013, then its not useful ever. That said, I'm not sure such a list is useful for any year. I mean you have your WC awards, which should include mangers of course, but beyond that... why?
So van Gaal, coach of the only NT in the world without a loss in 2013, is not in the Top 9? Hmmm... Okaay...
I'd be happy if Falcao returns to fitness in time for the World Cup. I remember in 2002 too many top players were unfit to make it or half-fit (Pires, Totti, Deisler, etc.) and it lessened the spectacle. Meantime, good news that Giuseppe Rossi is expected to recover from his recent knee injury. He could be back as early as May: http://www.football-italia.net/44513/rossi-dreams-coppa-final
They just haven't won enough games against quality opposition. While on paper their group seemed reasonably challenging, in reality Turkey was awful last year and Romania nothing to write home about. Also, they scheduled friendlies against China and Indonesia. The last really bit them in the but because it lost them the chance to be a seed and they will now play Spain in their WC group.
Definitely feel that 2013 is a good judge year with Confederations and qualifiers. I do think I'd put van Gaal higher and Tavarez has struggled of late I feel despite having a loaded squad so not sure I'd make him Top 10.
That's because Tabarez has been hurt. He just had back surgery a couple of weeks ago. He threw the cane away and he's ready to go. He feels like a kid again and will be ready in June.
Haha we'll see what he can do in June. Uruguay did quite well last time it was the last team to qualify.
And this reflects badly on the coach? Well, if you say so... //Obviously, the fact that Turkey and Romania (allegedly) were awful, was partly due to van Gaal's sub-par coaching. //Sarcasm off
