Honestly I thought very similar game to Germany's victory. Argentina with a deserved win and imo their best match of the tournament. Congrats to them, unlike some other teams (I'm looking at my own), they are improving as the tournament wears on. As for Belgium, only thing to say would be... my word Fellaini has got the first touch of a baby elephant.

They were ahead, they didn't need anymore shots on goal.

Argentina bossed the game with many better shots and a few crosses that were dynamic.

Belgium played like they were ahead instead of behind.

"Dark hoses". "Golden generation". And then resorting to long balls. Chokers. Thank you Belgium for destroying my prediction game.

I know a lot of people are saying Argentina looking good to go all the way..

...but if Netherlands win (as expected)...I'd put Argentina as 4th favourites.

This was a game of very small margins and people are acting like Argentina blew Belgium out of the water.
Unlike the groups games where 2-1 comebacks were common starting with the R16 only Holland managed that.

Hmmm, I see your argument but it can be argued any game this round to this point is a game of small margins. But I think the big difference among the teams which advanced vs. those who didn't (like my own) is the now semifinalists did what they wanted, they executed their plan. While the quarter-finalists did not and were forced out of their element, quickly running out of ideas and only able to attack toward the very end of each match.

Wilmots just bad coach, just bad. no tactics AT ALL.. a lot of potential in this team, but they just need more flexible and clever coach. Fellaini just like tree, Chadli? dar sub instead of Hazard was funny, even if Eden wasn't playing very good. 2 shoots on target in 90 min..

Interestingly, I thought Wilmots made the required changes when they needed to be made. Maybe there could be an argument about his starting line up though. All the people that think Argentina is a one-man team are kind of funny. Zabaleta is really having a pretty good WC and most likely would make an all WC starting 11.

To those who said Argentina was playing like crap, that they are a one man team, that they didn't play anybody, all I have to say is we are in the semifinals. And we have a saying for you in Argentina:

    Vayan a cantarle a Gardel!!!

On the contrary, Argentina is very well organised, like the other 3 likely semi-finalists. You have to look beyond scores and pretty goals to see this.

Looks like you'll probably have to get past the 2 Euro teams that keep knocking you out the cups, or a favoured Brazil.

Yeah, it's going to be tough, but the opportunity is there. Before the cup I would have said making the semis would be a successful tournament for Argentina. Now that we are here, I move the goalposts. It's win or bust!!!

I think reaching the semis would be a successful cup for every team apart from 3...Brazil, Germany, Spain. What I will say though, the deeper you are when you lose...the more gut wrenching if it happens (even if you got further than you thought you would).

It's been a while for you guys...so enjoy it...

I think this also proves just how strong Nigeria actually was. Of all the teams only they made the Argentinian defence look like Swiss cheese.

They were clearly not a one man team. But on occasions when they need to me, that one man is pretty amazing.;)

Well Di Maria is out for the rest of the WC...muscle tear. I though he was a huge factor to Messi being as good as he is with Argentina. It will be interesting to see him play without Di Maria's support.

LOL, again, only thing you knew how to read was the scoreboard.
Nigeria is sitting at home watching matches on TV for good reasons.
