Yes, I know but these are NWSL rules. If these rules were different, teams might have a different approach.
Yes, and like I said, it's a travesty. I don't think teams go in with a long term plan of winning on a tiebreaker... if so their coach should be fired. This was posted in another thread, but it sums up more eloquently what I was trying to say:
Nor could Chicago get a single point from DC. Just a draw in one of those three matches would also have fixed this. That just means the Spirit were a good counter to the Red Stars. As I pointed out in another thread, overall the Red Stars have been the better team than the Spirit, H2H aside (as it should be when you're looking at who would be better competition for the other potential playoff teams).

BTW the team finished 1st in their WPSL division. http://www.wpsl.info/standings/ Beat Indiana in the regional final But lost in the Semifinals to Beach Futbol Club http://www.wpsl.info/schedule/index.php?home_division=All&league=All I can't believe I missed all the reserves games Our reserve games are played at the Oak Brook Polo Fields located behind the Oak Brook Library. All of these games are free admission. It was a very large team http://www.wpsl.info/team/index.php?tid=208&page=roster

Love the news. Lori is our Captain. Abby is an awesome player, calm on the ball and good vision. Now all I want to hear is that the Red Stars resigned Julie Johnston and Christen Press is coming back.
This is one thing I can't stand about the NWSL. We don't know what her contract terms were. Maybe Johnston (and DiBernardo) already signed for 2+ years? Or maybe it was for one year with an option for the 2nd year? And would she even be a free agent and able to play with another NWSL team after one year if she doesn't stay with the Red Stars (I couldn't find anything that said how long a team controls a drafted players rights)? Who knows!
It's definitely a tad frustrating... Does anyone know how long it took for MLS salaries and such to become publicly available? I know the player's union didn't form until 2003, and the earliest salary list I can find is 2007 - more than ten years after founding.
Is there a site like capgeek.com or nhlnumbers.com dedicated to the MLS? Maybe they'd have historical info? (I'd love to start a nwsl cap website if the info were publicly available)
The standard contract for drafted players is one year with a one year option. I am very confident of this with good reason. I think the time for a team to exercise its options just expired? I know that date is somewhere at the NWSL website. I believe that if a team has not exercised the option by the deadline, then the player is a free agent. I don't know what the process is for teams to claim players whose options have not been exercised by other teams.
That's the standard, but as we've heard with some other players, it's not the only option. Deadline is tomorrow at 11:59 ET. It's listed here: http://www.nwslsoccer.com/home/about/732759.html Yeah, it'd be nice to know how that is handled.
Well I'm am sure the red stars exercised the option on Samantha Johnson. She is being loaded out to Sydney. I asked if she was signed thru 2015 and was told absolutely by the CRS GM. 508000163760467968 is not a valid tweet id
What's the stadium situation for next season. I was looking at the DePaul website and saw Wish Field. Right in the center of the city near the L line. Currently seats 1,200 expandable to 3,000.
My bet is back to Benedictine. Where do you see that it's expandable to 3,000? It looks pretty cramped to me. DePaul's website says the stadium holds 1000, and it doesn't look like they have room to even double the size of it.
