Final 4-2. Cursed match but the 2nd Eintracht goal keep open the qualification imo. Now I don't know if the red carded fb is irreplaceable or his sub sucks but with a 11men team at home they can qualify and conceding even a goal that it's pure gold in a 2 legs match as that. Jovic need to score twice or an hattrick, nothing is lost till the final whistle.
Commentary during and after the match were positive that Eintracht will be able to come back at home. In general it was very impressive how Eintracht played with only 10 men, and Benfica relied on Joao Felix for all four goals.
They made it. Won 2-0. Hasebe 90 minutes of course. Now they face Chelsea in the semis. First game 2 may.
Hasebe good as always. Italian commentary praised him as I never heard an asian player being praised before (in Italy) except Son. Now against Sarri's Chelsea and eventually the final vs the Kings of EL aka Valencia. This season seems endless as a Japanese players/NT fan! (Copa America incoming)

Another sick European drama tonight. When will they stop? Chelsea dominated first half, Frankfurt the second. I really thought they could make it when Chelsea missed their second penalty, but no.. Great tournament by Frankfurt and Hasebe anyway. Hasebe was okey tonight, not his best game. But he is a machine. And I thought he would take a penalty.
Frankfurt’s last two penalty takers are inexperienced and I was scratching my head wondering why the coach picked them to take the 4th and 5th penalties as if he was gifting the match to Chelsea!
Last match is against Bayern who still haven't secured the championship and need at least one point. If Eintracht lose and both Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim win they won't be playing international football next season at all, which would be very unfortunate.
While true, as a German, based on their international performance this season I'd prefer Eintracht starting three times in CL/EL over Leipzig, Leverkusen and Hoffenheim taking its place.
2020 Remember he is already planned to take up some other position at Eintracht after stopping playing. I guess this season ensured it won't happen all that soon though, I'd expect another 1 year extension at least.
Surprised nobody has posted this. Hasebe was named in Kicker's Bundesliga team of the season for 2018/19. https://www.facebook.com/kickeronline/photos/a.147009992018639/2397950880257861/?type=3&theater
Yes, I camr across this information last week or the week before and wanted to post it here but I forgot to do so.
