easy 7-0 win for Salzburg in their first cup match of the season, against Deutschlandsberger (3rd div.)
    Minamino scored the last goal

Okugawa not starting with Liefering, they're losing 0-3 at half time .

jk but he didn't even come in at HT, let's hope there's actually a good reason (a knock or something).

Btw, in more positive news, I just found out that these 2nd. div matches are streamed. I had already thought that I wasn't going to be able to watch them

No UCL for him today. Was that knock serious, Dax?

Where is the Spanish top scorer of Red Bull?

I don't know why Minamino is missing, haven't heard about any knock
and I don't know why Soriano is missing either and that's actually huge :/

they're playing with 17 years old Oberlin instead... wow.

Okugawa watched Liefering and Hwang (who scored) win their first game from the bench

players train everyday and the coach is there to see, assess their performances. Who knows if he performs there. Okugawa doesn't speak the language and he's rather shy so I really have no issue believing it's taking time for him to adapt.

Oh but to avoid this situation in the first place, staying in Japan would have been the best option. Red Bull has turned into a young players farm, they're buying a lot and hoping a few of them will pan out. They want to sign another very young french forward and unless they have an exception to field 15 players on the pitch, there's not gonna be enough space for everyone.

I wonder what's going on with Minamino as well, I didn't read anything about an injury. Would be funny to see him with Liefering, LOL.

At the same time, the number of players who move from Liefering to Salzburg - even after one season and in their twenties - is actually quite high, I had checked this myself weeks ago but I did not keep note, so it's still early to say that it would've been the best option. If you don't try, you can't know, and the chance to play in Salzburg - or RB Lipsia - in a couple of years was certainly more exciting than playing with Sanga (at this rate, in J3 lol).
Or just look at Oberlin playing in UCL a few days ago.

That said, it's obvious that he needs to play to make that happen so real problem is Liefering's coach being inept so far.

As for Minamino, he's already played in the league a few days ago, not sure why he was missing but I really don't think he's going to be loaned to Liefering nor he would accept it. It's possible that he might find less space or not, but that happens everywhere

yeah the key word is "in a couple of years". In a couple of years, he could also have played somewhere else than Red Bull. Maybe their new policy of buying trucks of young players makes sense from a club standpoint, but from an individual standpoint, it's probably the worst that could have happened. But what wouldn't you do for the glory and the prestige of playing for Red Bull Salzburg ...

Liefering lost two players due to red cards last week, it's probably why. Hopefully he seizes the chance. Let's go FC Liefering, do us proud !

I'm considering betting on FC Liefering's red cards.

edit: by the way, there's a japanese player called Toshiro Yatsuzuka in today's opponent, SV Kapfenberg. A right back, he's playing for them since last season.

can't say he was exactly good but it's hard to do anything if you don't play.

At least this coach will have a short life here at this rate.
