Scoring in European competitions is more important for him than scoring in the Austrian league, as scouts and clubs care more about European competitions. Mohammad Salah was not tearing the Swiss league apart but he did great in Basel's UCL games and this earned him his first transfer to England.
Am a fan of his game. Quite like his pace and dribbling. Anyone thinks that both of them can maybe feature in the Asian Cup next year? I feel that Japan should try to feature those players playing in Europe that are not the regular starters for Japan but have potential to play for the team like Okugawa, Minamino, Ueda, Kobayashi and Kubo, etc. to see if they can maybe make it into the squad.
As a person that hasn't really been paying close attention Minamino, can someone sum up what his time overseas has been like for his development? His stats seem to indicate that he's doing good, but the fact that he hasn't transferred to a bigger club seems to indicate to me that he has stalled a bit and hasn't flourished either?
He's not getting regular starting spot in Salzburg. Too inconsistent, but he showed some intelligent play, without the ball, with the ball, he's been underwhelming. His goal ratio is decent though.
frustrating stuff. he’s still only 23 this year though. really hope okugawa has a big season but i see he’s back at red bull.
Minamino started and played the full match in Salzburg's 2-0 win against Austria Wien. Third win in a row for the champions.
Played the full 90 minutes, as his team records their 4th consecutive win. 4 wins in 4 matches since the start of the season. Perfect.
Subbed in the 87th minute, his team manages a precious goalless away draw, a win by any margin will see them through to UCL groups-stage.
