Hochi reported today that the fee should be 1.2 mln, 400k as wage. Should join the team tomorrow. edit : dead @ photo

At least, Red Bull paid 1,2 million for him. That means he arrives with a certain status (which increase his chances to play a good role in this team).
Oh, I had forgotten that Tsuneyasu Miyamoto had already played in this club. Btw I'm slightly confused about the 2 Feb 2015 thing. I guess it's the date the transfer will be "inked", but why is that? Here's him at the airport anyway. Training starts tomorrow
seems like another young talent going to be wasted in europe. how many young japanese players transferred to europe before establishing themselves in japan and how many of them developed there? serious question. my belief is that he will be just another hirayama/umesaki/ito/morimoto/mizuno/usami/miyaichi/ibusuki/otsu/takagi/kinoshita/kanazaki/ono yuji/nagai/nagasawa (oh it will go endless). japanese soccer has been getting worse and worse since the beginning of european invasion in 2010. the 2014 wc disaster is the best proof that sending players to europe is pointless and adds nothing to japan. japanese soccer is hopeless. mou dameda!!
I agree with Usami and Miyaichi but some of those you named aren't that good in the first place actually like Ibusuki.
or it could be about time you accept most of those players aren't very good to begin with. Some names are also non-sense, Nagasawa has barely started his journey, Ono is playing and isn't even really good. Nagai was already estabilished and he simply came back to pick up where he left, same for Usami, and I'm not sure what Hirayama has to do with "wasting himself" since he played fine? Japanese soccer has definitely got better, and that's overall been proved when matches against top teams were played. The World Cup means as much as Spain crashing out in the first round. Aka zero on the overall state of a nation's football. And this comes from someone who doesn't really agree with this move. But I don't deny that he could make it instead. The Austrian league is easier even than the Swiss one. If Kubo made it I don't see why he can't. It's up to Minamino now, not "Europe" unless the coach doesn't see him. I don't like kids moving out too earlier either, but you'd have to be blind to think that Real and Barca weren't doing a good job with the japanese kids in the end.
Feb 2 is probably due to some sort of financial factor, e.g. # of seasons for establishing training compensation, etc.
Happy to welcome the Japanese Soccer Talent #TakumiMinamino to our club. The 19-year old signs a contract until 2018. pic.twitter.com/5T1wIjT9Gw— FC Red Bull Salzburg (@RedBullSalzburg) January 7, 2015 http://www.redbulls.com/en/fc-red-b...-bull-salzburg-sign-top-japanese-talent-.html
Here's Minamino's schedule before the league kicks off again: 17th january - FC RBS vs. FC Wacker Innsbruck (2nd div.) - friendly Salzburg's training camp is in Doha, from the 22th of january to the 2nd of february: 24th january FC RBS vs. Al Arabi (QSL 1.Liga) 27th FC RBS vs. Red Bull Leipzig (Red Bull also owns New York RB and Red Bull Brasil) 31th FC RBS vs. Al Jaish (QSL 1.Liga) --------------------------------------- 7th feb. FC RBS vs. Slovan Bratislava - friendly 15th feb. SC Wiener Neustadt vs. FC RBS - League match 19th feb. Villarreal vs. FC RBS - Europa League
Because of the DFB club naming rules they couldn't name the club Red Bull. Instead they decided on an odd name to make the RB abbreviation.
hahah didn't know thanks, I assumed RB was the usual Red Bull. Got shirt n°18 http://www.redbulls.com/de/fc-red-bull-salzburg/team.html#team/bullenherde/takumi-minamino
If he impresses, its highly likely that he will be playing in the Bundesliga in the next couple of years. It's almost inevitable that RB Leipzig will be promoted due to their financial strength. Right now they are a feeder club to Salzburg, but their roles will be reversed once they reach the Bundesliga and most of Red Bull Salzburg's best players will eventually be transfered to RB Leipzig.
Not zero, but it's still a minor part in the grand scheme of things. It's a short, mostly direct-elimination tournament. It does his part no more no less along with the other official competitions and friendlies. It's better if you count 2 or 3 world cups, maybe. We all know that Costa Rica or Greece have a good chance of not making it out next time, as their result was hardly a relection of their "state of football". Just like Slovakia or Paraguay made it to the last 16 last time and didn't even manage to qualify 4 years later (and the qualifications are played before 4 years). The opposite works for Spain, or England.
It sure doesn't mean anything absolute but you also don't crash out of the World Cup if you have a solid team. It says at least that. And that's no small when you think mostly all of the nations programs are oriented towards achieving something at the WC.
Yeah, I bet that in retrospect everyone would've said that Spain's team wasn't solid. Or Brazil before they got 7-0'd. Not true. It happens, and there are so many unpredictable factors that can make it happen.
Spain have been slowly declining throughout the years with most of the opponents having figured them out, it was not a shock to see them finally beaten. It was going to happen and the timing made sense. The amplitude of Brazil's loss was surprising but they hadn't been dominating so far.
Didn't see the answer previously but I won't say much, not a fan of this kind of "in retrospect" reasoning. The truth is that everyone was expecting Spain to be a title contender. Anyway, couple of news #TakumiMinamino feiert heute seinen 20.Geburtstag in Salzburg. // Congrats #TakumiMinamino! 20th Birthday #bulle12 pic.twitter.com/PkmYdRUwUH— FC Red Bull Salzburg (@RedBullSalzburg) January 16, 2015 also their striker Alan has been sold to Evergrande. Tomorrow Takumi plays his first friendly
They can be a title contender because of what they achieved and they can also have declined, one thing doesn't prevent the other.
58' TOR zum 4:0! Minamino lässt dem Wacker-Goalie keine Chance. #rbsfcw— FC Red Bull Salzburg (@RedBullSalzburg) January 17, 2015
