He probably wants to play more than he does currently, and the way he currently is playing, he would have plenty of European suitors. Not that much of a big deal imo.

 

They will certainly talk toward the end of the season, and it will come down to whether Tuchel and Zorc rate him as an important member of the team going forward. Even with the just-announced signing of Dahoud, the uncertainty of Götze's health and the mediocrity of Castro et al. would point in FD favor of an extension.

 

I don't think he is good enough to stay at BVB as a bottom line. With the likes of Dembele and Pulisic cementing their places in the team, he is going to have to look elsewhere. He's a good player, just that I don't think he is competitive enough in comparison to the talent BVB has.

 

Wait till the end of this UCL. A lot of transfer rumors depends on it.

 

Yeah, with Dembele and Pulisic potentially moving into #10 roles and Kagawa dropping deeper, it comes down to how Tuchel sees their positional development and the squad depth situation. Hard to say what happens this offseason.

 

Tuchel says that Kagawa looks surprisingly great after returning from Japan and notes that he has a track record of clutch performances in the Revierderby.

Kagawa clowned Gotoku with a wicked backheel through ball, but Auba missed the ensuing 1v1.

 

He also played a sweet one-two backheel with Mor and was pulled back by a HSV defender, leading to a free kick which was scored by Castro.

 

Really strong match by Kagawa, just another neat setup for Auba who again misses.

But Auba repays the favour by setting up Kagawa with a sitter. First goal of the season for Kagawa.

 

Kagawa puts HSV away by tapping in the 2-0, after setting up a litany of chances missed by Aubameyang throughout the game.
