Screw being a bigger man. Next time they come to Korea, give them Tanchun. That ground is crap. Better yet, maybe one of Gangwon FC's grounds and have 'em travel down via bus.
My own backyard is of better quality than that pitch. Can't say I'm surprised though. Let's hope they don't maim themselves on it.
From what I have read, that was the pitch that the Koreans themselves had requested after not getting Azadi#2 (since Iran was training on it). Of course, everybody here would leave that part out though. Also, I can show you training grounds from even the Bundesliga that have clumps near the goalie area. If the guy that posted this picture bothered to post the 10 others that came along with it, you would have seen it was a decent quality pitch. Again, of course nobody would post the other pictures here though.
oh MA Mothaloving god. what a disgrace of a field handed to a fellow national team. imagine that's the kind of field they give to practice to very guest nation. imagine national team like Brazil, Germany practice in that kind of field, they'll be outraged. I'll be so freaking embarrassed if i were them and gave any guest that joke of a field
There are noticeable clumps, potholes, etc. Anyone who's played football knows when you get your foot caught in them they increase the susceptibility of injury. Compare that to this: Like, I'm not sure if this is photoshopped or I'm seeing things but why are the lines so wavy? Where the bird is, the line goes up and down. WTF. and FYI, the issue of pitches is not a new thing in football. England before a Euro 2008 qualifier complained to UEFA that Russia's Lukzhinki Stadium was an artificial pitch.
You guys should re-review the FIFA/AFC rules. Iran is not obliged to provide anything as a host for the Koreans, not even a ball, until three days prior to the match. The fact that Korea NT has decided to arrive in Iran one week earlier than the standard date as their own initiative, makes the Korean FA responsible for the field and accommodation at this point, which explains why they're practicing on a shitty field they've probably rented from a third-division club in Iran.
