"The 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games is an international sporting event scheduled to be held in Pekanbaru, Indonesia.[1] The 2009 event, originally scheduled to take place in Iran, and later re-scheduled for April 2010, was canceled after a dispute arose between Iran and the Arab countries."

That's Islamic SOLIDARITY for you hahahah.

Question: Are nations that have observer status allowed to compete?

Would be great if nations such as Bosnia, Russia and Thailand competed with players of Muslim orgin

How? I find this odd because you have to be a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation don't you?

Some nations have tried joining but for whatever reason haven't been accepted. But I can understand nations that are observers taking part - these observing nations do have Muslim areas of the country.

France aren't members, not even observing members. But if they were observing members, then I can't see why they couldn't participate with a Muslim origin squad.
