I'm a Chelsea fan, but this is very true. I guarantee a French club would play him in his correct position.

Hell, Moses or Emenike might have turned them into goals.

So you think 1970's brazil would be considered the best? Someone had to best them, it just happened to be Spain. I'm sure before we pass, there will be one that surpasses spain as well, it happens.

Torres now has 36 goals for Spain. Hard to imagine but he might overtake the 44 Raul has.

They will have to prove that on the pitch. A heart-bleeding fan stating that on Big Soccer does not mean much. Sorry.

When spain won the euro 2012 it was pretty much in every paper all over the world, that this team is the greatest of all time.

Euro 2012? You mean every European newspaper said that? Well, on paper it means nothing. On the pitch, the story is quite different:

Fifa WC 1970 - Knockout Stage
    Brazil 4x2 Peru
    Brazil 3x1 Uruguay
    Brazil 4x1 Italy

Fifa WC 2010 - Knockout Stage
    Spain 1x0 [add any team]

Sorry friend, the game they played is out dated, and would even be mauled by the brazil of today.

So what? The US Marines would very likely kick the ass of Alexander's army even if using the same weapons. That does not change the fact that Alexander the Great was the greatest strategist of all times.

That comparison was ridiculous. Not even the ball they played is the same.

Yes but no one in their right mind would argue that alexanders army is the greatest of all time, and would beat the current U.S. military. Lol well maybe a brazilian would, you guys post wacky stuff.

Put 1970's Brazil in today's game and it's unlikely they could compete. On the other hand, put today's Spain in 1970 and two thirds of the team would probably end up in the hospital and the rest in the morgue.

With the build-up you guys are giving a Brazil vs. Spain match-up, I hope Italy or Uruguay troll everyone and knock one of you out in the semis.

Uruguay are a pesky team, and perhaps they can knock out brazil on penalties? they have a habbit of doing that, but Brazil look far too strong for Uruguay at the moment.........

You're not excited for a possible spain-brazil final?

Not especially. If it were the World Cup , or even a World Cup knock-out round match though, that'd be different... Stakes just don't feel particularly high on the Confed cup. You know whatever happens that reasonings such as "it was just the Confed cup, it's a glorified friendly" or "They didn't want to win it to avoid the 'curse'" are inevitable.

That's true. lol. You had to break someone's leg to get a red.

The games weren't that easy and Brazil played against very though opponents. I know the game has changed a lot tactically, but that doesn't means those guys couldn't attack and defend. Brazil had a hard time pentreting Uruguay's defense in 1970.

Maybe the greatest, but only to the known western civilizations of those times.
He never conquered the whole world, not even the whole of Europe, as in those days whatever existed at Northen Europe, was considered as unknown.
In fact, he never even put a foot in America as well, where other ancient civilizations existed, against whom, if their would have been a confrontation, his strategies of war, would have been useless.

Is that not what you were getting at? That alexander never conquered the americas, therefore he's not the greatest millitary general of all time? Because of pride you posted those petty comments, if you were european, or african for that matter you would of never made such a ridiculous post. Your pride is getting in the way of whatever logic you're capable of forming.
