Doesn't make sense.. we absolutely destroy the competition in Guatemala, and get handed a grouping with Mexico... I don't get it.
Not that bad. Guatemala can draw the Americans. Or Honduras draw Mexico and finally the Catrachos play against Guatemala for a berth. Anyway , USA must be very angry with the draw as well. As a host nation Panama was in the best group, away from US and Mexico and close to Canada as a seeded teams. Then , they set as pot 2 the Central American : CR , Gua , Hon togehter with Barbados ( likely the weakest team). And finally in the last pot , the other Caribbean teams . Of course Panama got Barbados !
You do know the circumstances behind that game right? Last game, all the players who didn't get much game-time started that game, plus we had already won the competition in Guatemala, by the time we played Los Chapos. Yall needed to squeak past Nicaragua in qualifying to qualify lol.
You do know the circumstances behind that game right? First game, lineup tinkering. The coach (who's been replaced) didn't know what formation to run. See how easy it is to make excuses. I saw all the games and the only real difference I see in Honduras is better finishing. Not so much better tactically or in other aspects.
You're joking right? Honduras thoroughly dominated. We were faster, taller, bigger, and more technical than any of the other Central American teams. When Guatemala and Honduras cross paths, I'll enjoy a four goal beat down in a game that isn't programmed a 4 days after we already sealed our first place status.
3-0, 4-0, 5-2 speak for themselves.. my nephew plays on the U-17 team, Valentin Bodden. He plays for Valencia U-16, a youth academy in Yoro and from the pics he sent, and the games I saw, those kids looked like men compared to the rest of the competition.
The draw does suck for you guys. You gotta play Mexico and beat U.S. to get to the WC. That is kinda bs, but that's CONCACAF and you know the host always gets the sweet deal. You guys can beat the U.S. though, it's been done a lot lately. Congrats to your nephew. I have a cousin on the Guate U-17 who was in talks with Espanyol of La Liga, so yes I know some of these little guys can ball out.
The one from Achik right? Yea the draw sucks, but Honduras should very well progress to the next round. I talked to Alberth Elis Martinez's family, he's the kid who was the leading scorer in the competition in Guatemala, and he told me a lot of those kids on the U-17 got looks from teams abroad aswell. Hopefully these kids set a foundation for our next generation.
I am looking at FSC and they do not list the U-17. Is not on Univision Deportes Network. So probably only the USA on FSC, I am sure the Mexico games will be on one of the Univision channels. Not sure about the rest, ConcacafTV I guess.
