apologies, somehow I managed to repost the older video... this is the cup goal. Excellent movement. @ 2.20 I'll post today's goal when I find it in decent quality
Todays goal http://d1t49lbiau98sq.cloudfront.net/sfl/media/2016/10/30/asset-2713563-1477836491112184.mp4 Also the first part of the article in a local newspaper about todays game is dedicated to him only. http://www.bernerzeitung.ch/sport/fussball/yb-begeistert-jung-und-alt/story/16440152 Rough translation: Yuya Kubo could be the leagues top scorer. He's playing well, has great movement and he gets along well with his strike partner Guillaume Hoarau. He's getting many opportunities to score. Against Vaduz this sunday he HAS to score four goals. He does score eventually but it might not be a coincidence that he only has to hit an empty net after a great attack. He scores it very precisely via the inside of the post. Grades from todays match in the same newspaper Yuya Kubo: 5 (out of 6) Great performance, some great first touches, well involved in the attacks, ideal strike partner for Hoarau. He scored the 2nd goal but it should've been about 4. He missed a few absolute sitters. That's why he doesn't get the best grade.
more like could he finally take a leap forward and pass the 10 goals threshold ? Let's hope so. The goal was offside but good instinct.
More like 4 goals in the last 5, no reason to be a downer. The offside was very small, I blame his teammate anyway. Karma for all the posts he's hit. Technically he's already scored 11 between all competitions, but 3 were against an amateur side in the cup, so we can count 8. While I agree that after 4 seasons "this must be it" he's still 22 and it's not like there's a long history of japanese strikers doing well in Europe, especially if we focus on the number of goals. Positive vibes.
There's also too much history to get excited (remember Morimoto, the second coming of Ronaldo according to Pato), he also had nice streaks in the past. But it's better than not scoring indeed. There's a position to be taken upfront for the NT so it comes timely as well ...
Morimoto was more like this little guy from FC Tokyo who debuted in J League yesterday and by the age of 22 he was already on the downward end of his career. Kubo improves every year and he isn't hyped too much. And his club trusts him a lot.
in retrospect it's easy to tell but everybody was excited as hell when he was turning in great performances against AS Roma.
I find the contexts too different but we shall see. If he has a solid season the real test will be after anyway, when he moves to a better league. eh, Vahid already said he sees Kubo as "an option to play with a second striker" or on the flanks... =/
