Incidentally, Heidel insinuated that both Okazaki and Muto could be in Mainz's lineup season, saying that they are different types of strikers: the former a CF, and the latter able to play on both flanks.

Muto can play well on both flanks?

Yes he can ? In Japan he plays on the flanks ? Right and left and sometimes in the middle. Heidel says Muto is the replacement for Hoffman on the right side. Today Heidel also said that he want to renewed the contract with Geis and Okazaki. Mainz want for next Season Okazaki in the front,Koo on the left,Mali in the middle and Muto on the right. Sounds great I think.

Don't think Heidel mentioned anything about contract extension to Okazaki & Geis yet. As for Geis, he's definitely leaving.... Mainz bought his replacement already.

For Okazaki, it's a bit tricky. He's their only recognized FW & I doubt he will push for a move either. As you noted, Muto is viewed as Hoffman replacement (who played on the left for Mainz). So, Muto will have to compete with De Blasis if he were to join Mainz for next season. Koo will probably start from the right with lots of interchange

Koo plays most of the time on the left and when the buy Muto tehre is no real competiotion from de blasis. Muto is buy for starting spot with no doubt.

Read the source, they want to keep Okazaki & Geis for sure. He said there are no talks with Dortmund or Leicester against all romours. He said there is no official offer and they dont want to hear something about this

I did and it doesn't mention anything about contract extension. 2 yr left on Geis (no buyout) and 1 yr left on Okazaki. Also, Heidel is the same guy who said he didn't have a clue about Muto back in Jan (Kicker reporter asked about him during Mainz training camp).

Muto & Koo can play in both flanks.. so, it doesn't matter but Muto's probably better on the left. Also, you are mistaken if De Blasis isn't a competition..

Sure de Blasis is competition...but not huge...i watch every game from Mainz and Muto is defitinely a other class. And Mainz want Muto for starter, that`s fore sure cause he is getting one of his biggest transfer fees in club history. De blasis is okay, good player but no compare to Koo/Muto so no worries.

Maybe I revealed me wrong. Maybe no contract extension but Heidel said in this source that he wants Okazaki and Geis for next season, so there is no need to sell and the romours are only romours. The chances that Okazaki stays in Germany are not bad and Shinji maybe want to stay (who knows), he never told anything, that he want to change to EPL for every price and to every club. It looks more that he stays there or change in the Bundesliga cause coach and manager said both, that they think he stays and the want him there.

We can only wait and see what happens.

3m euro isn't Mainz club record & it was Heidel who stated Muto to Mainz isn't "fixed" yet. Mainz bought Nedelev for 3m 2 seasons ago, he can't catch a break in the side. As much as I like Muto, we have no idea how he will adapt in Germany.

When Mainz bought Muto they pay something between 3,5 -5,5 mio so its a huge amount of money. And Muto is a big talent and a great player, no doubt he will make his way.Nedelev is no compare to Muto. I don`t say the transfer is done but it`s very very likely. And Muto get his starting sport fore sure, let`s see.

By the way =) Okazaki assisted the 1-0 for Koo and has a great match.

Looks like it can real happen. Even Kicker reported the interests.

    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...kazaki-bleibt-bei-der-borussia-ein-thema.html

Here stands, that Gladbach allready (more or less) has agreed with Mainz and that he changes from Mainz to Gladbach for 8 mio €. Don`t think it is so far, cause Mainz said today that they don`t have an official offer yet. But that`s in case means nothing, maybe they have an offer and agreed allready without the sign on the paper to get some time for EPL clubs to get him and earn more money...who knows =D? Let`s wait and see.

By the way. Heidel said today that they want Okazaki for all costs and renewed his contract when it`s possible. They want to sell Geis and invest this money in Okazaki to get him a big contract with more money.

Here the article who told, that they want to keep Okazaki to all costs.
