They should bring us their experience and serenity but... They were ridiculos on every goal (pratically). Unfortunately the back four lacks of landmarks and automatisms.
Our goalkeeper is usually better than he showed today, even though imo none of the goals were at his fault, he shouldve done better at the second and possibly the third goal. Our defense was really slow and sluggish today so the through passes and generally all passes along the ground were killing us. We could only defend long balls pretty much, and that was more that Japan lacked in the decisive pass rather than the defense being good in the air. Anyways, hope it will be a good game on wednesday and im hoping for a better showing from China than todays game, hopefully we can get our second win against Korea but im doubtful. Also my apologies to BSJ.
Especially for the older defenders, they are the one with the experience. They should know better to actually mark the players than just standing in a rigid line when a cross is coming in.
What game were you watching? He was just as bad if not worse. Like when he flapped at that high cross that every player on both teams thought he would catch and didn't even bother going for it? Or the multiple times he played low clearances right at the Chinese players? At least Kawashima knows how to kick the ball into the air!
Anyway only 2 studs up challenges from China today so bravo. Even though both would be straight red cards with a respectable ref, we know that we weren't dealing with a respectable ref when he gave a PK for a normal clearance, lol.
I said two years ago that both Komano and Kurihara are garbage. Funny thing is, I'm gonna eat chinese food today for lunch, the irony
Osako and Saito were basically useless subs but I guess you can't expect much when you are playing with a team full of newbies to begin with. LOL at Takahashi still not starting despite all of the new players. Zac must really just like how he warms the bench.
Now that I think about it, I had Chinese for dinner last night. The guy screwed up my order and I had to go back get money returned so that wasn't a good sign I guess. Well the guy was Japanese anyway but still, bad sign.
FYP. I highly suggest re-watching the highlights. Makino was to blame for the poor clearance which led to 2nd PK and not marking anyone/ball watching third. Has comparable playing expereince to mentioned. One also may ask why Nishikawa let the cross come right across the goal, no punch/nothing. Komano was more so at fault.
Just watched the game and... Komano was horrible. In the first half Chinese tried to push everything on his side and it seems like they had a good reason for that. Unfortunately there were only two players who could keep the ball up ahead and end it with a shot. Kudo completely vanished in the second half and I don't know why as in the first half Takahagi tried to push everything through his side. Yamaguchi was OK doing usual DM work but unfortunately Aoyama was put in the place for the one who should link defence with Takahagi and it didn't work at all. Everything which came dangerous for Japan went from the wings. The defence... usual awww... I don't know when it happened that Komano could learn something from Makino who at least tried to push up forward sometimes for the build up. And I don't care about results. Individual display is much more important on such occasions.
Has Japan ever had a keeper that could handle crosses? They either flap at it, or stand there and do nothing. Nishikawa just happened to choose the latter this time.
Where can I rewatch this game. (aka download it and stuff?) if someone could give me the link I would appreciate it
whoever wrote captain tsubasa should come out with a new series about an up-and-coming young centerback. perhaps his sidekick/best friend can be a fullback. hopefully that inspires a new generation of defenders that we so desperately need...
yes, and Kakitani missed all his touches today, so he's crap Nope, has nothing to do with the goal. He was overall very active and probably the best of the front 4. Haraguchi also became better in the second half. I saw a lot of people thinking Takahagi was doing well but he did one great pass and throughout the match he showed poor decision making (that "shoot" was a very sad moment).
"He was active", "he was brave", "he had some good runs", cool stuff but with the ball ? Poor. He's a striker. Playing him on the right side is a waste of time and space. those are some cool arguments, I guess if I miss all my touches I'm as good as Kakitani. Not everybody is to be put at the same level. The DF selection was crap and it showed. Period.
indeed... damn I just rewatched it. When I saw it live, I said f*ck you to Kurihara, but I rewatched it and good damn, there are at least 3 other players doing horrible defending there (GK included, I thought the ball wasn't near enough to go out but that positioning was embarassing) When I said I thought he was good it's not like I thought he was good without the ball. So okay, different views here. Okay, but that selection included Komano who definitely can do better, and Makino wasn't good enough too, and no, it had nothing to do with him playing as a fullback ( I think he even did the cross of the second goal?). He was just bad at defending.
It doesn't matter. If you want to play with full backs you select proper ones, not Makino. He was atrocious but when you can obviously do better with your team selection, it's infuriating. Using players where they qualities should bring them is a good start to build a good team.
Saku : He was not atrocious when going forward, so the problem today was not "him being a sideback", Komano is "a real sideback" and guess how it went. Anyway, what's done it's done... I take this 3-3 with our jleague team in a more encouraging way than 2010's 0-0... hopefully? . Looking forward to the next match. Blue: I really don't know, sorry.
one good cross amongst countless lost balls and mistraps. That's like saying Kakitani has been amazing just looking at the scoreline. This is not how it happened. And yes Komano was bad but it has nothing to do with where Makino should be used if you want to take the best from him. And this is what it is about. I don't care about losing as long as it is in an optimal setting. The 2010 team was playing better football but they knew each other so sure. Kinda looking forward the next one but not South Korea, if we play like that, with our "veteran presence", we're going to get obliterated. They didn't take 2011 3-0 very well.
No problem thanks for the answer My view on the entire match. Well basically me not saying much says it all. defense was worse then shit and I am being kind. Shonan Bellmare probably has a better defense than this poo. Also I expect a totally different line up in the next match
