to be fair, Cerezo clearly said they will do what they can to not sell their players this time, if possible not even during the summer. Reason: shitty placement last season

To be fair, if he does what he did last season and perhaps a bit more... it will perhaps get him on Zaccheroni's radar as well, at least to give him a chance to show his skills in the national team.
(I would use him as a forward in front of Maeda any day, and then watch teams crying as JNT plays with their defenses :ninja:)

Kakitani showed to be a very smart guy, other than a top class talent...very good for him and for Cerezo.

Looks like most "internal" transfers took place by now, and we are only seeing movement between Japan and abroad, or players retiring/dropping to lower divisions. True for today as well.
    - His stay out of Japan didn't last much: striker Everton Kempes Dos Santos Goncalves, better known as Kempes (30) has signed a permanent deal with JEF United. Kempes came to Japan during last winter on a loan from Portuguesa to Cerezo Osaka. He was a regular starter for the Kansai team until October, when he went back to his Brazilian side. He scored 9 goals for Cerezo last season.
    - Two players will leave both Consadole Sapporo and the country, instead: first off is Ramon (midfielder, 24), who joined the Hokkaido club last summer during the last desperate attempt to save the situation. His contribution wasn't enough- but probably not even Messi would have saved our beloved dosankos. He joined Brazilian Serie D team Clube Remo. Ramon had a long, though not exactly successful, stint at CSKA. The other one is Australian defender Jade North (30), who spent the whole season at Consadole playing as a starter. North first came to Japan in 2011 at FC Tokyo but wasn't able to win his place in the lineup. He had past stints in other countries, and collected a fair number of appearances for his national club as well. He will be off to Brisbane Roar.
    - As for the farewell section... forward Naoya Umeda (34) leaves football after twelve seasons spent all around Japan. He was never a starter in his career, started most games as a sub, apart from two loan periods at Yamagata and Shonan in 2004 and 2005. He spent his last season with FC Gifu.
    - Umeda met the same fate as defender Yasumichi Uchima (28)- a career spent mostly on the bench, that is. Uchima started with Oita but after a season with no playing time he switched to J2 and found a place at Tosu. After Tosu he went down again to JFL, to his last club, Gainare Tottori. Pointless trivia: Uchima and Umeda shared two years together at Gainare.

    - Matsumoto Yamaga will loan two midfielders to JFL side Shizuoka Fujieda MyFC: Kosei Arita (19) and Yuta Murase (23). Arita is very young and joined Matsumoto two seasons ago, but never played for their main team. Murase already has some JFL experience instead, as he went to Ryutsu Keizai University and played for their uni team between 2008 and 2010. He signed with Matsumoto last season but failed to make any appearance with the ptarmigans.
    - Ehime FC's reserve goalkeeper Yusuke Kawakita (34) retired from football after a career mostly spent in Shikoku. After a couple seasons with Ventforet he moved to Otsuka Pharmaceutical in the JFL, and won promotion with them to the J2. Once the team became Tokushima Vortis though, he found himself relegated on the bench, and the following season he moved to Ehime, where he has been ever since, alterning seasons as a starter and seasons on the bench. He was Ehime's main GK in 2011, but never played last season. He brings home a small personal accomplishment- the 2003 JFL new hero award.
    - Matsumoto Yamaga's forward Masato Katayama (28) leaves the pitch as well. Katayama actually began his career with Matsumoto when the team was still playing in the Hokushinetsu league, and his first season was a blast- he scored 14 goals in 13 games. He attracted the interest of Gifu, the team that brought him to J2, but since then he failed to repeat his number in a higher level league. After two seasons with Gifu he moved to Mito HollyHock and then back to Matsumoto in 2011.

    - Vissel Kobe brings home another interesting international signing after Esteban- Brazilian forward Mazinho (Anderson Soares da Silva) from Serie B side Palmeiras. The big news is he actually enjoyed some playing time with the green shirted club while it was still competing in the first tier last season, so he looks like a valuable add to Kobe's squad. Only downside he didn't exactly score lots (4 goals).
    - Well that's quite an unexpected move- Fagiano Okayama's Korean midfielder Min-Kyun Kim (24) left the Chugoku club after two successful seasons with them, and will try to look for success in Europe- in Poland, that is. He joined Ekstraklasa (the Polish top tier) side Jagellonia Bialystok, currently sitting around midtable. He will be the only Korean player in the league, while there are already two Japanese playing for Pogon Szczecin- Takafumi Akahoshi and Takuya Murayama.
    - As for our farewell section, Kota Yoshihara (35, forward) retires from football after a long and successful career which included NT callups (even though he was only used once), a trip to the 1999 Copa America and a J.League title in 2005 with Gamba. He played the last few seasons for Mito HollyHock.

    - Gainare Tottori gets youngster Ryota Inoue (22, goalkeeper) from Kanoya National Institute of Fitness and Sports. Inoue has been growing up in the FC Tokyo youth system.
    - Midfielder Suguru Hashimoto (30) will be leaving the country once again after his four-seasons stint with FC Gifu. This time he is headed to Thailand, particularly to Osotspa Saraburi, a first division team. There plays another Japanese - Hiroyuki Yamamoto. Hashimoto started his career in Singapore, playing with Albirex Niigata's satellite team. After two seasons there he went seeking fortune in Europe, and settled at Danish club Vejle. His two seasons and a half there weren't particularly exciting as he only saw the pitch four times- and that's when he moved to Gifu.

Giravanz Kitakyushu bought a Korean striker, Il-Woo Nam (23), from K-League team Incheon United. Nam only spent 30 minutes on the pitch in his career so far. As probability would suggest, he never scored an official goal.

Teams usually announce their squads around 1/2 weeks before the start, but some changes are made afterwards as well- I remember last year Matsu complaining about Fagiano registering a packed roster before the start of the season and then moving half of their players to Fagiano Next in the Chugoku league.

Just a slight clarification about this issue, which is slightly different from the dates of the transfer window (although closely related).

Each team is allowed to register only up to 25 players on "A" contracts, plus three foreigners on "A" contracts, and up to seven additional players on "B" or "C" contracts. Theoretically that limits the number of players in your squad to 35 (although ACL clubs are allowed four more "A" contract players). However there is a loophole that allows you to register more than the 25+3+7 , up until the date that the transfer window closes (March 29).

What Fagiano does . . . . . EVERY year . . . . is register all of its Fagiano Next players as "Fagiano Okayama" players so they can get their picture taken and put in the Meikan magazines. Then they transfer 20-30 players to Fagiano Next, just before March 29. It is a cheap way of getting "five minutes of fame" for their second-team players. I think there are discussions about changing this rule, but this year Fagiano will again have a roster of around 50 players when the Meikan comes out.

    The roster cleaning continues.

    - Speaking of the devil, Yutaka Baba (26, defensive midfielder), one of the Meikan players Matsu was talking about (I'm pretty sure he made his name when talking about this situation last season) definitely left Fagiano Okayama and moved west to Chugoku League team Renofa Yamaguchi. While Baba was included in the Fagiano squad every year since 2009, he has always been moved to their second squad or loaned to a lower division a few weeks after the league started. He only played twice with the first squad in his career, and that was back in 2009. So he will find himself at home in the Chugoku League, because this is the fourth season out of the last 5 he will find himself competing there.
    - Baba's fellow teammate Naoyoshi Fukumoto (25) takes an even more drastic decision, as he won't be playing football anymore. He was in the Fagiano A team in 2010 where he collected 7 league appearances, but started the J2/Chugoku League elevator thingy in 2011.
    - Montedio Yamagata's defender Kei Nakano (24) will be playing for JFL Company team Sagawa Printing next season. Nakano didn't play any official game last season- since his pro debut in 2009 he only made the starting eleven once in the 2011 J.League Cup.

Not sure we need a striker who hardly scores... as much as I like Oguro, he just doesn't convert enough chances into goals.

In the absence of a whizz-bang signing like Bare´ or Leandro, or spending big/taking a chance on bringing someone new to the Japan, we've got: Marquinos (10 goals from 22 games), Fujita (15 goals for JEF last season), Hanato Jin (14 goals in J2 in 2012), with Saito, Shunsuke and Hyodo supporting.

There must be a helluva lot of belief in the system they have in place in order to justify the title aspirations this season.

I hope for Marinos' sake that Hanato has a Saito-like breakthrough season, judging from his stats he made the most of his time at Kitakyushu.

    - Former Ventforet Kofu midfielder Fernandinho, who was released earlier this season, will play in Brazil next season. He has been bought by Atletico Linense.
    - Matsumoto Yamaga's Shota Imai (28, midfielder) is back to Shiga prefecture after six seasons with Yamaga, during which he moved from regional level to the second tier of Japanese football. Imai started his career at Biwako Seikei Sports College, and was picked by Matsumoto in 2007. When the club got promoted to J2 last year, he almost never made the pitch and was eventually loaned to Blaublitz Akita mid-season, where he got to play frequently. From next season on, he will play for MIO Biwako Shiga.
    - The drop of Sho Murata (25) is even bigger- the former Mito HollyHock midfielder will play in the 2nd division of the Kanto Regional League next season, for Urayasu SC. Urayasu has been promoted to the regional level last season, and it proved to be a threat for everyone, eventually finishing in 3rd place. Considering how Murata was a regular in both 2010 and 2011, and got in for a fair amount of time last season as well, it looks like a very ambitious signing for the Chiba-ken club.
