According to this report, Matsui's move to Sporting after the 2010 WC didn't materialize because Grenoble tried to raise the transfer fee by 200k after the clubs had already agreed on 2.3 mio - just before he was to be presented as Sporting player.

Sponichi et al saying Matsui is possibly going to Marinos. However, I suspect there is something being lost in translation as it was Central Coast Mariners who were after him in the January window, but then decided to wait for his contract to run out and get him in the off-season.

There is definitely an interest and he wants to come back.

Hmm, not sure what to think about that. Having sold/loaned out all of our other AMs, I can see we need a back up for Shunsuke, but Hyodo and Saito (with Hanato off the bench) are doing alright for us so far. Up front, Marquinos is doing well, Fujita not too bad considering a lack of game time and I'm not fond of us playing 2-top anyway. We'll see.

    Oh boy.

Marinos do not take this man. He will I figure take up a great wage isn't the youngest anymore and I kind of think isn't on a required level as well

Higuchi likes his "experienced" players, it must be said...

He's just a backup. He is physically quite out of condition right now.

you're kidding, right? Do you have any idea what his wage at Slavia is? Also there is no transfer fee involved.

Finally heading back to Japan. I know Matsui he's a travels-lover, but probably being in Bulgaria isn't going so well, if he's not renewing his contract.

True, no transfer fee. cnd_marino mentioned reports of ¥50mil (US$500k) as his salary for F.Marinos. Out of condition and a back up player only, no thanks.

That would be really high, doesn't seem likely unless there were more teams on him... what's the source? There's nothing on sponichi...

Than he will be the more experienced player in JNT for WC2014?

teioh, if you have nothing to add, why do you keep posting? Jokes can be fun sometimes but not if they become the majority of your posts.
And it's not even funny since he hasn't been called anymore since years.

It's not strange to call an experienced player before an important competition like WC2014, a lot of NT did it in the past even Japan (Nakayama was called in 2002 nope? And Akita too if I remember right).

The old geezers can support the youngsters moral and be an unexpected add on for the team.

However I prefer Tulio than Matsui for this purpose and now that he finally come back to his country he can obtain popular approval too.

I would call Bomber before Tulio, but let's not go down that road. P.S. the Matsui rumour turned out to be bogus or so the President said.

No just an idea of how well paid experienced veterans are in J-League. Especially the ones with "famous names"

Anyway let me know what his wage is if he comes to YM
