It seems like it's more about Uchida's bad knee than anything. Kicker says that the JFA medical staff recommends surgery, while Schalke wants conservative treatment. In any case he is far from fully fit and he may be facing a crossroads in his career.
yeah, I was about to post that. http://www.news04.de/artikel/015-kicker-uchida-mit-patellasehnenentzndung
http://www.derwesten.de/sport/fussb...mit-japanischen-medizinern-an-id10575135.html Di Matteo specifically acknowledged that he's " fallen behind " because of his problems
http://www.derwesten.de/sport/fussb...ch-mueller-wohlfahrt-diagnose-id10582956.html Uchida went to Munich to see the German NT doctor Müller-Wohlfahrt (the one who made news by quitting his role at Bayern this past week). 10 days of rest, no surgery for the time being.
Whats up at Schalke? Prince-Boateng and Sam sacked from the club, and Höger suspended! Edit: Seems to be a loyalty issue. But why not just sell them instead? Could get a decent amount of money for all 3 players.
Yeah, I really like him as well. What he showed at LEverkusen when he was at his best was simply amazing. He hasnt shown anything of that at Schalke though, and if he has a behaviour-problem its better to let him go. He seems to be more injured that fit anyway. That KVP are once again in the focus for the wrong reasons isnt exactly new. My guess his next stop will be either USA or UAE.
No, they are "freistellt" according to schalke.de, which translates into released while Höger is "suspendiert". . The English version of the Schalke-website translated it into Sam/KVP also being suspended though, and seems several other websites picked that up, but surely it is the German version that is correct.
Well, KPB and Sam are still under contract for 2 and 3 more years to Schalke, respectively. So they've been told to stay home from work indefinitely until the club can dump them somewhere.
I'm also pretty sure that they've been just put out of the team. Can't imagine Schalke not trying to get money from them this summer.
Schalke can't save a single penny unless they can sell one or both of them somewhere, or agree on a contract buyout.
Rumours have it the 2 players kicked some other players in the dressing room after the game. Not sure how accurate those rumours are, but even so, if the Schalke admininistration found the things the 2 players did(said serious enough for them to be fired, then surely there is a whole lot more to t his story than what we know so far. Also read that Boateng have it in his contract that he will get an automatic contract extension when he have reached 70 matches, and he´s played around 65 now..
Boateng is actually a good player, he performed quite well last year when he first transferred. Don't know what happened to him this year.
http://www.schalke04.de/de/aktuell/news/150610_heldt/page/5833--10-213-.html Uchida has undergone surgery for his ongoing patellar tendon issues, per recommendation of his Japanese surgeon. Schalke's team doctors and Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt (Germany NT, ex-Bayern) recommended conservative treatment, but the club ultimately respected Uchida's choice. He will do 6 weeks of rehab in Japan before returning to Germany.
Let´s hope he will be in good enough shape when he gets back to go straight back into the starting lineup then! Saw a picture of Uchida showing Romain Neustädter around in Tokyo a few days ago, so maybe those 2 are good buddies?
A relegated coach for him. Former Paderborn manager. That's means nothing. Lazio made top 3 with Pioli from Bologna. The material counts. I think.
That's a great step for Breitenreiter. Hope for him that Schalke finally manages to calm down next season, even the coach search turned noisy again the way they put off Wilmots.
Yeah, they played very attractive football in Bundesliga 2 the year they got promoted, so hopefully it will be fun to see Schalke again. Under Di Matteo, almost all matches were a snooze-fest.
