Imo he made a mistake moving to Europe. 1 Season more and perhaps he would have been ready. Disappointed in him so far

5-0 standard liege now, assist by Yuji Ono as soon as he comes on. A beautiful through ball.

not really, they will join the second round. It's a long way to go

Hilarious that Ono is preferred to Nagai but it's true, he's just playing better from what I saw.

Hilarious in what regard? Nagai is as about as ready for Europe as Ono. Not even close.

You're right, but I was just guessing with what could have been their initial viewpoint: one came with 10 jleague goals + great olympic exposure, the other one was a little in the shadows (compared to him).

Come home soon son, your Euro trip is over. Yet another VERY young talent wasted in the doldrums of Europe. I hope he has the sense to come back to Japan and hone his skills before making a very unwise career move elsewhere.

You don't think sitting on the bench and making a handful of substitute performances at the age of 20 is a waste? I do compared to the fact that he WAS a regular starter at 19. I do consider sitting on the bench less desirable than development with playing time in a good league at least on par with the Belgium League. He or His Agent preferred stardom opposed to becoming smarter and stronger. This is is of course all in your interpretation of the word WASTE. Knowing Yuji Ono as a Marinos fan I knew his time had come too soon and he would be wasted in Belgium. He's 20 yes, but how many players has the European Syndrome negatively effected? I look no further than his teammate Masashi Oguro who now is on loan in China somewhere.

he's just getting started CND. He was actually playing before the injury. Right now it's rehab time then we'll see what the future holds. It's not that bad going through hurdles.

I don't doubt his potential, I was just frustrated seeing him leave prematurely.

This doesn't really belong here, but Yuji's brother Yuto has 19 appearances and 2 goals during 2013-14 for Atlético San Luis in the Ascenso MX (Mexican 2nd division).
