    Slutsky can always stomp on his feet accidentally.

    You would think a club would have more respect to a 4-year player. Guess not. Maybe Honda's thank you gift is the bench he will sit on today. How nice.

    Well, it's a bit sad because they're playing for nothing today (they're already out) so I don't really get it, otherwise I would've been fine to see him on the bench, he should've been put there before instead of ranting at him or subbing him out like that.
    Anyway, this year he played the Confederations, and very soon the russian league started, so it's good that he gets some rest. I hope he doesn't decide to join in Milanello even before january...

    They're playing for an EL place. If you care about that.

    Oh, I forgot that. Makes sense then, even if they would have to lose like 4-0 to be out...

    Oh I didn't realize the goal differential was that far apart.

    Viktoria needs 1:0, 2:1 or any two or more goals win. CSKA stays on third place if winning, drawing or losing by one goal while scoring at least two themselves.

    So the 1st tiebreaker is head-to-head record? That makes it a bit more interesting.

    Sorry?
    If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order):
    a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
    b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams
    in question;
    c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the
    teams in question

    He's right. CSKA won the 1st meeting (in Russia) 3-2.

    Ah, so "among the teams in question" is literally inteded not as the usual global goal difference, but the GD between their two matches... weird stuff :ninja:

    edit: no it's not possible because it's worded in the same way in a), I don't think that's it.

    Yes, so if they are tied on points, they basically treat the 2 matches as a home-and-away series, applying the away goals rule.

    Sorry I edited later, but considering that a) says "among the teams in question;" too, I think there's a misunderstanding here.

    Yeah, it's redundant.

    Dax_: because there is a possibility of three or four teams tying on points, so it had to be worded same for all cases, I think.
    For example there is a possibility that Arsenal, Borussia and Napoli will all have 12 points after tomorrow round.
    Anyway, the lawyer's language differs much from the common one.

    Man when is the last time Musa converted a scoring opportunity? I had exactly zero expectation that he would score on those chances in the 1st half.

    Doumbia is missed severely for sure. And Vagner Love for that matter.

    Doumbia must be pleased to hear that Vortis was promoted.
