CU #3 - Soccer America Men's Top 25 1. Maryland (5-0-0) 2. Connecticut (5-0-0) 3. Creighton (5-0-0) 4. Akron (3-0-1) 5. North Carolina (3-1-0)
Polak is great, probably our best soccer player. He hasnt really grown, but no one beats him down his side, and thats not just for Creighton. He also played for Chicago Fire during this summer and from all accounts he did more than hold his own.
Not this game, it would seem: http://thecup.us/2011-us-open-cup-t...-no-trouble-with-pdl-version-of-chicago-fire/
In last years MVC semi final against Bradley that was on a web cast they must have shown the winning goal ten times as Mach turned him at the 35 and he stood and watched as it was put on a tee for the winning goal. That flushed the first round bye in the NCAA's away. I see a GOOD outside back not a GREAT back that everyone has seen for many years and put on watch lists and all american teams. Brown and Duran have cleaned up a lot of mess he has left out there, those are the guys that everyone should be talking about.
Creighton wins 3-0 over PROVIDENCE! 6-0 on the year & the only team in NCAA Div. 1. not to give up a single goal so far this season! Go JAYS!!!
Mr. Iceman 28: Apparently you do not follow the college soccer experts! CHICAGO FIRE PREMIER DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE: ...It should not go without mention that a major contributor to the Fire victory was the consistent play of the back line of Tyler Polak (Creighton University), Kevin Cope (Michigan State), Jonathan Raj (Fairfield University) and Harrison Petts (Indiana University). http://www.chicagofirepremier.com/home/534702.html http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/coll...099/Sporting-KCChicago-Fire-PDL-Player-Review Tyler Polak (Creighton) was the best player on the PDL side. I was concerned that he'd be taken to the wood shed by the experienced, fast and strong Kai Kamara. For much of the match, Kamara decided to abandon trying to attack the smaller Polak. Polak got forward providing valuable attacks and more important was outstanding on defense. Read more: Sporting KC/Chicago Fire PDL Player Review | College Soccer News
Creighton wins again! 2-0 over #21 Kentucky!!! 7-0-0 on the year! Still have yet to surrender a goal... Best start ever for the team (and Coach Bolowich for that matter!) Goals from Ethan Finlay & Andrew Ribeiro!!! Crowd was 2,557!!!! Go Jays!!!
Looked good! Especially in the 2nd half (again!)... Only bad news is Choco was hurt & still limping after match, when team came out to thank the crowd...
Not paying very close attention. Just one fact from tonight's win over Kentucky: Andrew Ribeiro scored the first goal of the match when he blasted a shot into the lower left corner from the top of the 18-yard box with exactly 54:00 off the clock in the match. Ribeiro's second goal of the season was set up on a build up from Tyler Polak down the left side, feeding Ethan Finlay who sent a pass to the middle for what proved to be the game-winning score.
Kentucky had some good chances. They played the counter-attack game. They packed the middle as we play Gomez-Castro-Finlay all floating in around the middle. It seemed to stiffle the Jays for awhile but in the second half we seemed to get the ball out wide more to Acoff-Polak-Miller who could steam down the flanks and pass it inside at the right moment. Kentucky's #9 is a good player and gave us problems with his movement. Holt came up big, AGAIN.
This is a very impressive start for Creighton. As I said previously, if this team doesn't make the Final Four, the season should be considered a disappointment.
HUGE match looming a week from tomorrow when Creighton takes on Maryland....would love to see that one in person.
If you're willing to spring for the airfare, I'll pick you up at the airport and take you to the game. And you can crash in our guest room.
Its too bad its not on FSC. I think they are playing UNC-Duke which is also a great game. Shame they both are on at the same night.
Thanks for the offer. If I was going to go to a game I would attend Akron game Hopefully I can watch on web.
