According to the article above, Reds want to loan him for a year... If this loan happens, after the year he may probably leave for next to nothing and join Reds for good. I can't imagine Makino challenging Europe again, after all the things he said about how he wants to prove himself.
I don't get it, are people upset he's coming back to Japan? Or upset that he's going to Urawa? Cause it's definitely a good idea for him to come back to Japan. Playing regularly in J1 is most certainly better than playing for a relegation threatened 2.Bundesliga side. ================ People need to remember that the J.League has produced plenty of international quality players over the years, it's not the end of the world. He can still learn and develop there.
I agree and am excited to see him back. Perhaps people here are a bit disappointed but it could also be the Urawa hate which is always present hehe
You got to understand Sanfrecce-supporters. Makino left to Köln for free, and if he didn't make it they naturally expect their local hero to return. Instead, he goes to Reds, where seemingly all the better talents out of Sanfrecce head, including the manager. Secondly, there is a sharp contrast of what he said in interviews just some weeks ago when he talked about how important it was to be in Europe and fight. A move to the Reds, if true that he will join on a 1-year-loan, at his age, and with the option to get regular playing time in Buli 2, imo ends his adventure. He may develop but it will be a development in a lukewarm environment - and I am not talking about the quality of J1: It's just a difference if you are in a place where you are automatically a star, or if you have to fight for a window seat even on the team bus. Edit: Anyway, nothing's official yet...
Yeah, i get where you're coming from. As I follow most closely the NT I don't concern myself with which club a good player goes to, rather the league they're in (unless the team's in UCL or something). I don't care so much for lacking the aggressive nature of an overseas environment, especially for defensive players it doesn't bother me too much. You only need to think of Nakazawa, Tulio, Matsuda, Akita, Konno, Komano, Kaji, Iwamasa etc etc etc... as proof that top quality defenders can spend their time in Japan and be top quality.
+1 He talked too much to back up. He had a golden opportunity to keep chasing his dream so I really hope he goes to Frankfurt in the end, otherwise the failure will be clear.
For a year. I'll say it again (and not because I was looking forward to see him in the stadium here): This is the end of his adventure.
Can he play as a striker? Whoa, ending his trip this way, burning all the bridges behind him... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFdINQI1Wwo"]2010.12.31 ?????? FC??????????? - YouTube[/ame]
That's a video from press conference after he left Sanfrecce and decided to go to Europe. He's crying as he had to leave Hiroshima of course. Finke is a true mastermind... Thank you for this 0 yen transfer! So let's wait for official announcement and close this thread.
and also according to hr-online.de FSV Frankfurt gave up to get Makino, so just official announcement left by Urawa/Köln i would say...
http://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2012/01/11/kiji/K20120111002405320.html Official announcement of the Reds-loan maybe tomorrow?
http://www.sanspo.com/soccer/news/20121027/jle12102705030001-n1.html Köln may want him back after he finishes his loan spell end of the Jleague season. whatever.
WTF? And why in the world should he go again in Koln? Right, there isn't Solbakken anymore, but.. they're in 2. Bundesliga and they don't seem capable of reaching promotion.
He still has contract at Köln until summer 2013. I guess they are just asking for some money if Urawa wants to keep him.
