It looks like.Maybe he gets mor playingtime next season.I think it would be a sucess for him when he scores 5-6 goals and some assits.Last season was hard, cause he switch into a full and good working team in a runnig season. He is miles away from beeing a great player but with a little bit hard work he can be a solid striker for Freiburg and I think they have trust in him so it's the same situation as they are for Makino.

New season, new chances to impress. That's the magic word for Yano ;D

Yeah I would say 4 goals is a success for him, and a couple of assists.

I wish him well. 40 games and 0 goals for Freiburg would not be that nice.

lol I can't figure out whether any of those achievements are positive or negative. He wasn't going to get anywhere anyway so no surprise there. I hope he proves me wrong.

    Re: Kisho Yano's Thread [R]

He was not that bad in the first season for Freiburg.I mean he played 15 games even if he was a substitute,so he played not more than 45 minutes and in half of the games maybe 10-20.
But I remember that he got "solid" Marks from his coach and the german media. He got one assist and has 3-4 very good chances to score. When he can improve only a little bit I think he can score some goals.A big point for Yano is,that he needed not much time for the different style of german football. From the first game he was able to compete in the Bundesliga.

But I read today, when Cisse stays in Freiburg they have to much Striker and Yano would be possible the first to sell, but I am not sure how serious this source is,never read something official from coach or stuff.

    Re: Kisho Yano's Thread [R]

Yano is right now the fourth in the pecking order. Cisse of course is no. 1, and for the case he is sold this summer, they signed Dembele. Reisinger comes next and then maybe Yano. If they play 4-1-4-1 in the new season, Yano's playing time will be more limited than last season when he was signed as striker no. 2.

    Re: Kisho Yano's Thread [R]

All of a sudden? Honestly it never really did sound good at least for him after Reisinger came back from injury beginning of the year. Nearly each time Reisinger was subbed in he delivered, so Yano's playing time already sank in the 2nd half of the season. With another striker signed it will not be easier for him.

    Re: Kisho Yano's Thread [R]

Things aren't looking so bright for my favorite Japanese player abroad huh? They signed some striker who scored 36 goals in 39 games.
I guess he won't even make the bench this season.

So which club will he sign for when he gets back to Japan?

My guess would be Cerezo, but I think that Culpi knows that Yano is crap so I guess its unlikely.

So the lucky club will be Omiya. :)

    Re: Kisho Yano's Thread [R]

I know I should have known even before last season started but I lost all hope about Yano around the winter break. Just when it started to become big news when he would be subbed in AND touch the ball once.
Basically I get the impression that he is not ambitious enough to fight for a place in the team to start with... I am not saying that he doesn't fight when he is on the pitch. It's more like his attitude toward the profession of pro-footballer is lacking something important. For instance, when looking at his blog he doesn't really seem to be angry at his situation... That is different with Makino and Hosogai who at least admit they have to do something about it.

You've gotta say it's good to know this gen still has a few good men left who treasure our ancient strikers' heritage. Someone's gotta keep it alive or there will be nobody left to pass it on to the future gen :D

"our ancient striker" = a forward who is better defending than scoring and who is unambitious?

I'd say that our best striker option at the moment is Okazaki

Okey. Question is if it would have made any difference if he was healthy.

    Re: Kisho Yano's Thread [R]

    No

I wrote earlier he is our No. 4-striker. With Cisse sick, he would be No. 3.
But he missed the preseason-matches, so I would say he is now even behind another player coming out of Freiburg's youth.

Great. I wonder why he is still at the club, I don't see him getting many chances this season.
