Rather than posting a new topic every matchday, I'll be keeping all of these facts and figures constrained to this thread. Historical Totals Code: Year Average Median <5k >10k 2008-09 7,117 6,303 44.7% 23.7% 2009-10 6,806 5,461 46.2% 16.7% 2010-11 8,446 5,525 43.6% 35.9%
I would be happy to see it under 40%. But not surprised if it didn't get there. All games been on week nights, and including teams that already have smaller draws, will always make it tough.
If all the Caribbean teams minus Puerto Rico and the Nicaraguan team all go out in the prelims, then the number should get under 40%. In the past, having a Trini team in the group stages really dragged down attendance numbers.
No Trini team at all this time, so that should help, right? More seriously, Tempête have a mountain. I think the odds are pretty good that neither they nor Alpha United make it through. As to giving Puerto Rico a pass -- they didn't exactly light it up in the stands last year. All three group matches were below 5k. ...oh, wait. I see. Puerto Rico is matched up against Isidro Metapán. Who only drew 1k to their game against Seattle last year. In that case, yeah, here's hoping PR goes through. Neither would help the <5k %, but PR would make the overall average better.
Metapan can get about 8k in their home stadium and now that they finally get to play at home I will be very curios to see if their fans show up. I am pretty sure they won't sell out but I could see them having decent attendance numbers compared to last year.
Not sure what Wiki's source is, but according to them, 700 in Panama City, and no number reported in San José. We're off to a rousing start! ...Well, their source might be CONCACAF themselves, the 'full information' + on the match reports
We could get 4-5K for the games against Colorado and Real Espa~a, if marketed well. 7-8k for the Morelia match. That all depends on how well we play, given that the last game two years ago against Columbus (300) we were already eliminated from the USL and the CCL.
7301 - click the '+ full information' toward the top right. Other attendances: Morelia - Tempête: 6954 Motagua - Municipal: 6000 All very solid. For Round Two, the home teams are: Seattle Alpha United Real Estelí Puerto Rico Olimpia Tempête (but not really. The second games is also at Morelia) Dallas Municipal All in all, I expect the numbers to be a little lower (especially in Grenada, and except for Seattle). I've seen a lot of snarky comments about Dallas not being able to beat Alianza's attendance. But now that I see the actual number, it may not be that snarky. It would be awesome to see Dallas top that. But I'd be good with them topping last year's median.
6,000 (rounded number ) at Motagua 7,301 in El Salvador 6,954 in Morelia http://www.concacafchampions.com/page/CL/Schedule/0,,12856,00.html Not bad at all. I am sure next week will not be as good as this week.

We've avoided the embarrassingly low attendances of last year's preliminary round for the most part, so far. Definitely going to be pulling for Seattle to beat San Francisco though, or the average is going to plummet.
I will be shocked if we top Alianza's attendance. It is supposed to be 110 tomorrow. Nobody in their right mind is going to sit in that heat. I mean, I'm going, but please allow me to refer you to my previous statement.
Just wait till the Olimpia vs. Santos numbers come out. Olimpia probably have the best attendance number so far in this CCL.
