This is an extremely troubling match

The situation is almost identical to the one before the match against Denmark. Not exactly a must win, but it should be.

Saudi Arabia will be out for blood. After 2 lackluster performances they will play their hearts out to try to gain a consolation.

I believe Japan only needs a tie to advanced. However, it would be great to pick up three points. We need to avoid Uzbekistan in QF . Also Japan needs to win this one to gain some confidence, which they seem to luck during the last two matches.

Yes, it won't be a piece of cake as they'll likely produce a pride reaction.

The only way we will be knocked out is if we lose by more margin to Saudi Arabia than Jordan loses to Syria. If we both lose by the same margin, than we need to match whatever amount of goals Jordan scores on Syria.

I really want to avoid Uzbekistan so we need to win.

I hope this would be a good rivalry game but to be honest I doubt that

The keyman of this Saudi team, Yasser Al Qahtani, is TOTALLY out of form and posed no threat at all during his past 180 minutes. And most of their midfielders were like invisible men on the field as well.

Naif Hazazi has a lot of talent and performed well, but they surely played him in the wrong way————I can't believe they expected him to do those "Drogba things"

I hope Kazanby shows the game on teleAsa instead of bs1. I heard Matsuki was hilarious.

Truly. For the Japan vs. Syria game, the Man of the Match should have went to Matsuki.

Well if the Saudi's got wasted then the game might not be as good as i hoped. That'll take about 2 weeks worth of conditioning from them.

If Japan get an early goal it could be a big score here cause the mentality of the Saudi's is as fragile as an egg probably.

I dont expect too much from Japan this time, after what I have seen (the quality of the referees and the opponents poor behaviour). Just make it ugly and win it

I just want a damn clean sheet already.

To make sure google translate isn't lying to me, that link from Sky was about the saudi team drinking all night yes?

I mean poor behaviour as on the pitch... I dont have time to read any news related to them and what they did outside

In Europe it's normal to spend all night drinking on Wednesday and play a game Saturday. In Spain many players goes to their 'work' straight from the nightclubs. But I think that's too much for any Saudi.

lol yeah especially seeing as alcohol is officially banned in saudi arabia. But how did the japanese press know that the saudis went drinking? There doesn't seem to be any english report on it.

All group B teams stay in the same hotel (1 group, 1 hotel). So if the Japanese team are there the press will be everywhere and that hotel probably has a liquor license. Or at least a bar nearby.
